"Can I conclude that you being here means your plan has been perfectly executed?" Eliseus asks me. She is the only one in the troop who is not covered in blood.
"It is still being executed, but I can say it is going well." I nod my head.
"Wow! How could you convince them to be our lapdog?" Coming at me, Vibiane grins widely. Half of her face is covered in blood—even some of it is still dripping from her mouth.
"That will be a story for another day," I say. "For now, let's focus on the battle."
"You are right," Eliseus nods her head. "Alright, see you after the battle!" She leaves in a flash.
"I can't wait to hear about it, Layland!" Vibiane gives me one last smile before also storming off.
I have realized it since day one, but I still find it quite astonishing that all of my troop mates treat the battlefield as if a playground. All of them look very lax even though we are outnumbered so badly, it is absurd.
