Slowing down for a second Aureum also wanted to check his reflection in the pond. He was very curious as to what kind of animal he was. Gazing into his reflection, the first thing that came into view was his adorable face!
Yes, adorable, he looked like a cat... albeit a somewhat large cat. Quickly checking the rest of his body in his reflection, he noticed that he had golden orange fur, with a little bit of white around his face, stomach and legs. There were also vertical stripes along his body, light brown in color.
Considering his looks for a moment, Aureum came to the conclusion that he was a golden tiger! And a cub to boot! Aureum stared at his reflection for a while, forming an impression of himself. "Hm... I'm only a cub, but I'm simply too good looking!" He had never seen such a majestic creature! "Hais... calm down you're being too narcissistic." Aureum thought to himself.
Even though Aureum felt he was being a bit narcissistic, he had to admit, he was indeed a very majestic and beautiful little tiger cub!
But that was when an even more important matter struck him! He had seen no signs of any form of family and would have to rely on himself for survival! Aureum was highly nervous about that, as he never got out much in his previous life and only studied for school! How was he supposed to survive in the wild?!
Obviously realizing he had no choice Aureum, soon came to terms with it. "Either I die once more, or I fight for survival in this new world..." as Aureum thought along these lines, he believed the choice was rather obvious! He would fight for his life! He had no wish to test if he could reincarnate a second time!
After all of Aureum's internal debating, he felt his stomach rumble and decided it was finally time to deal with this fish. Not knowing much about this world and his current situation he decided against directly pouncing on the fish, and rather to first test the fish's strength. After all he didn't want to be killed by a fish within about two hours after receiving the opportunity of a new life!
Thinking along these lines, Aureum decided to test the fish, he looked around until eventually finding a small pebble and picking it up in his mouth. Thinking about it Aureum seemed to notice that he was quite in tune with his body, as if he had always been an animal. Everything seemed to come to him naturally and he had no issues with movement of any sort.
Whether it was walking or moving his tail, his actions were smooth and unlike someone who had just went from living as a bipedal human for 19 years, and now a quadrapedal tiger who had seemingly only existed for what seemed like 3 hours. Aureum could only guess the time he's been awake since he had no idea if it was night or day, and couldn't guess the time based off the sun's movement, being in a cave and all.
Upon hearing his stomach grumble once more, he tossed all his thoughts to the side for now and focused on how he was going to catch this fish! Walking closer to the pond, Aureum wanted to see how the fish would react to anything that fell into the water. Aureum spat the rock at the fish!
Aureum studied the fish, expecting it to panic once the rock fell in, but he was amazed at what happened next... the fish directly bit the rock in half!
