Chapter 2 - CH 2

He once again had to get up from his comfy tent and forced to go running once again. This time he just casually jogged, being too comfortable to really care about anything. Ever since yesterday he woke up warm and toasty, not only that but his stomach wasn't uncomfortable, nor did he have any body pains.

The run ended quickly, and so he ran to the canteen to finish his breakfast and dash right back out to the forest. Commencing another hunt for fruits and mushrooms.

He saved the apple from before, but he planned to eat it today and savor its flavor… only… he once again came back with a full haul. He didn't get an apple today, but he did get plenty of berries, enough to store in a container for later or turn it into fruit juice.

Today he drank water from the steam he found, it was way too tasty, and the camps water tastes terrible.

He went to the stream again… and caught a good fish only after 10 minutes of waiting… So, he waited again and caught another one. His normally frugal eating lessened, and he could eat one whole fish for lunch and one for dinner.

Only this time he planned to make a stew.

Today everyone gets seasoning, and that includes seasonings to make stews. Not only that but he found potatoes today. Yes, he only got 4, but they were large. Perfect for a mushroom fish stew.

That would last him about a whole week if he rationed it. But since he didn't have anything to preserve it, he could at most keep it for 3- 4 days. Well, he'd at least won't have to worry about eating for the next few days.

After he made the stew, he stored it in his soup bottle and left. Going straight to his new hideout and promptly took another nap, totally content with his new routine.

After that he'd wake up, have dinner and return to his tent for the night. Sleeping in his warm and comfy tent.

But this night he didn't, he was bored and wasn't tired in the least. So, he did something different, he tried to meditate.

The camp didn't allow anything but solar rechargeable appliances, so he only had a few solar charged lamps to keep the dark out. But he could just try to meditate and fall asleep.

He closed his eyes, his breathing slowed, and his stance relaxed.

Didn't immortals cultivate like this?

Wouldn't it be cool to dodge bullets or if he could become a hero of some sort… well those where just things he wished to have, at least he could become a doctor and save lives that way.

That was his dream, to become a doctor and have his parents live a nice retirement life.

Speaking of his parents, they were old but not worn, his father was a normal office worker with his mother. Both of their paychecks were enough for all of them and then some. They even renovated their apartment to something more convenient to their old age.

They were also going to pay for his education, and thankfully he wasn't dumb. His grades were a bit above average, enough for his parents not to worry about him… only… he was too big for their taste, so he was forced into this camp.

Yup, perfect parents.

---------------

…. It's been a month since he started, and so far, he's been getting sick of eating fish and mushrooms. Not only that but the quality of the oatmeal seemed to have plummeted. Making it unsatisfying to eat… so lately he's just been skipping meals, eating only a few fruits a day.

Surprisingly he wasn't hungry.

But what he has been doing was meditating every single day, and so far, he's still the only one who knows about that cave.

The instructors started to see less and less of him, to the point where they didn't even see him during the morning run.

They all didn't look for him, so he kept going undisturbed.

Bullies didn't bother him anymore; he didn't know why but he was happy to be left alone.

Now he could just do what he wanted, and he only had 1 more month left of this place...he'd sure miss this cave.

If only he could take it with hi-

WHOOSH

He opened his eyes wide and took a deep breath before taking another look around his cave. Thinking it was just some wind.
