Chereads / The Frost Walker / Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Jack was the symbol of peace so his death only breeds violence, and that is when magic ranks became a thing, all nine castings were ranked. It was a fight to be the strongest, to take the place of the top three, it was called the magic war…

William was almost killed but his brother… his hero risked it all to save him. Jack could only do so much though, he fought till his last breath to protect William, and when he died Aron, Jack's best friend took him in, that was who owned the house, after Jack died that is.

Soul's words brought William back to reality "hey Will? Are you there?.." Soul sounded nothing but concerned as he looked up at the icy warrior,

"Hm?.. oh uhm it was a friends room..they moved out" Soul knew it was a lie but he wouldn't dare push his luck

"Oh? Okay" he said with a smile as he looked down at William's shaking hands and held them in his own, with a gentle and worried smile.

William smiled and walked away from the door that had a special place in his heart for so long and showed Soul to a room just a little smaller than the living room.

"This is your room Soul" William spoke with a smile as his voice echoed, Soul's bright purple eyes lit up with amazement and awe.

"W-wow! This place is huge!" William smiled a bit more happy that his newly found friend was enjoying his stay and looked around Soul's new room, it had furniture books and papers

"Hmm this place is missing something" Soul looked at WIlliam a bit confused as this was all that would be in a room and then some, "ah right" William then left the room and and came back with a small feather, it was a perfect violet with neon blue spots on the edge

"W-wow! It's beautiful, t-thank you" Soul's voice was coated with surprise and enjoyment

"Of course" William smiled and placed it right beside Soul's bed and left the room, soul looked at the feather with a small yet joyful look.

William sat outside of the door and gently pressed his head against the wall with an embarrassed smile, he then got up and walked to his room, it was a little smaller than Soul's, William sat down and took a minute to think, the war of magic, the war that changed everything...that war was the very reason he had to train for years, that war made him the most feared person alive, it also put many people in homeless shelters, and many innocents were massacred. The fire casters did the most killing as the ice and lightning tried to help people, that is why there are so few of them, but the ones that lived are no joke, they are the strongest and fastest casters out there. William only saw the aftermath but he was terrified of what they might have done. The bodys were always burned beyond recognition, William would never even dare to fight them back then. Now he could fight a group of fire casters with no problem, but there was one, one fire caster he would never fight Flare..the sun god as he is called..his thought was interrupted by a quite knock, WIlliam bolted up with shock and went to the door a bit confused, the person at the door was a small and colorful kid, his eyes were two different colors, blue and red.

"Aron! Hey, what are you doing here now?"

"Well...they know, the fire casters know you are still alive."

"That doesn't surprise me one bit"

"What did you do!?"

"They were going to kill someone!"

"...and now they are here!?"

"yeah.."

"William..look sometimes hiding is the best thing we can do..we can't fight the Other casters!" Aron's voice trembled as he stepped forward then the house went quiet, the only sound was the breaths of the people in the house, within seconds the house shook then the building was engulfed in fire. William quickly summoned a wall of ice and shouted over the blaze

"Get out of here now!" his voice was course and demanding

"What about you!?" Aron barked back grabbing William's wrist

"I need to get Soul!" and with that William ran up stairs to the kid's room and desperately called out

"Soul we have to go!"

It felt like an eternity before the shadow caster called back

"William?! William help! I'm stuck!" the caster pleaded as coughing stopped his sentence
