As Eviery went all over the place to find Peter and the others, Khalid on the other hand, went to their surveillance room and swiped every location in the holographic screen to look for possible leads to the whereabouts of Evielyn but he couldn't find anything he even reached the restricted place.
Eviery run across Izzy down the hallway, she asked her where her friends were, to which Izzy gladly answered that they were already resting into their respective cabins. She nodded upon hearing it, her friends must be exhausted if everything that's been going on with her life, they became part of it, they protected her to the best that they could ever imagine. She then asked Izzy if she could borrow another clothing that is LESS revealing, Izzy gladly let her borrow. They walk along towards Izzy's cabin.
"Is this the least revealing thing you have?" She frowned asked Izzy with disbelief upon seeing herself in the mirror. She is wearing a sleeveless top with a not too long cut that could still reveal her cleavage and fitted leather black jeans. These people must really love to wear leather clothing! She thought to herself.
Izzy chuckles, "What? All the naughty bits are covered. A little too much in my opinion." She shrugged and sighs while staring at Eviery from head to toe. Once contented with how Eviery look, she then turned around and walked her way into her bed.
"So...uhm...You, Alex and Khalid are what...family?" She asked Izzy hesitantly while following her to the bed.
"Translation, you want to know if Khalid and I are a thing?" Izzy teased her and chuckled.
*Scoffs* "And why would I care?" Eviery immediately denied.
"Because you do *smirked*. Don't worry. In every way, he's like my brother." She explained and moved to sit properly over the bed. "Our parents took Khalid in when he was ten. We trained together. Learn to fight side by side." Izzy said using her sweet Angelic voice to convince Eviery.
With one look, you would think that Izzy is like an angel sent from above, her long curly black hair were always out down, and her tantalizing eyes seemed to have lots of emotion and her unobtrusive movement won't make you think that she has this flirty attitude, take into consideration her fierce red lipstick that even accentuate her pouty lips.
Few more talking and convincing, Eviery then bid her goodbye to Izzy, she must also call it a day and then she went to her room that demon hunter prepared for her.
The next morning, everyone is woken up by a sudden alert to the whole headquarters. Demon Hunters are moving faster than their usual pace.
Peter woke up first and went outside his room only to see the siblings and the others busy and with a worried face. He frowned and walked towards Khalid's direction.
"Khalid, what's going on? Why is everyone in a hurry?" He asked him as he pointed the people around.
"We have received a report. Vampires are attacking mundanes again." He hissed as he clenched his fist.
"What? Where is it this time?" Peter asked again, his brows were pulled together because of worriness. Khalid walked his way to the weapons and took one for himself.
"At NYC Mall. We need to go." He said, patting Peter's shoulder. "Alex! It's time." He yelled as run towards the elevator together with the other demon hunter.
"What about us? Aren't we coming with you? You might need our help too." Peter shouted to Khalid who now had a serious look written all over his face.
"You might just be a burden to us. I prefer you and the others to stay for now. Have your training with Izzy." Alex answered and smirked as he put his bow on his shoulder and followed Khalid. Peter doesn't like how Alex acted but he knew he had a point. Only him and Jacob knew how to fight, and they cannot afford to let Nathalie go out there and be hurt, especially Eviery, she's the most important thing they need to focus on right now. The demons are after the mortal cup and her blood so we must protect her at all cost now.
"Peter!" Someone called him from behind, so he turned around to see who it was. It was Nathalie by the door, "What is happening?" She asked, scratching her eyes while yawning as she walked towards his direction.
"Vampire attacks." He said simply. That causes her eyes to open wider and tremble.
"What? And why are we just standing here and not helping?" Eviery appeared out of nowhere and heard us.
"We can't go there, not prepared at all Eviery. The war will be in the next three days, we have to start training ourselves." Peter replied, "Besides, Izzy is here. She'll be the one to train us with our fighting skills and for our weapon, there's Hashe. I think he's already fine." He added as they walked towards the training ground where Izzy and Hashe were waiting for them.
"Guys… look at the sky outside!" Jacob arrived breathing heavily. He looked like he just came from jogging.
Everyone in the training ground was alerted and immediately went to the window to check. Their eyes widened, upon seeing the dark skies, it looked like there's an upcoming thunderstorm. It was too dark outside and there were sudden jolts of lightning strikes from time to time. Black birds are flying in an unidentified direction. Some demon hunters are gossiping to one another about the sight outside.
*Sighed* "These are the signs that a war is about to break out. We have anticipated this to come sooner. Knowing that Vampires made the first move to mundanes." Izzy said to answer everyone's question. This is a phenomenon to their world, whenever a war is about to happen the sky would suddenly seem closed to everyone and the demons would appear.
When everyone calmed down, they started moving and gear up for their training. Peter went ahead for his weapon training together with Jacob and Hashe as to Nathalie and Eviery their coach would be Izzy.
They separated from the girls and went to the bigger space inside the headquarters, it was the southwing part where Khalid, Alex and Izzy used to train.
Peter activated all his senses, he could feel the building up of his blood all over his body as he summoned his sword. He saw Hashe's reaction towards him that made him more competitive. He wielded his sword up in the air as Hashe did the same thing. They both ran across each other and the sound of their swords slashed to one another as they got closer, Peter pushed him hard that made him step back a little.
"Interesting." Hashe commented the moment he gained his balance back and followed by a chuckle. He signaled Jacob to join them so he was obliged to do so. They are now one against two.
Jacob ran after Hashe aggressively but he managed to dodge it and swipe it through. Peter jumped towards Hashe's back without a word but he still managed to dodge it. Peter is moving as fast as he could but Hashe still managed to block his strong blow, his weapon was thrown away so he didn't have any other choice but to used his fist. A quick but strong back kick was released by Peter against Hashe's back who is currently blocking Jacobs' sword.
He would manage to get his weapon back and start again with their sword fight, blades clanged together. Panting and breathing heavily as the fight is still going.
Meanwhile, to the girls, Nathalie practices her archery as Eviery, she spar with Izzy. She chose a weapon from the racks. She stared at the weapon one by one, and it led her to a two kindjal dagger. Her heart is beating so fast because of nervousness, she is thinking what if the pious blade wouldn't lit up. And she was right, it didn't lit up the moment her fingers landed to the shaft of the blade. She turned her head to her right to see Izzy's reaction and she just smiled in return.
"Naah! Don't worry Eviery. I'll teach you how to activate the pious blade girl. Don't be too excited." Izzy said, smirking and she walked closer towards Eviery and took her own weapon.
"Here let me help you." Eviery jolted with the sudden masculine voice from behind them and turned around to see the owner of that voice, it was Khalid's walking into the training ground. He positioned right behind Eviery as he could feel her back stiffened. He moves his one arm into Eviery's hand that is currently holding the shaft of the kindjal. He guided her hands to move the shaft horizontally into the air and wielded it very slowly and softly. "Think of owning the sword, feel its power, succumb to every inch of it, become one with the sword." He instructed as they continued to move their hands together into the air. She closed her eyes and followed his instructions and after a minute, her kindjal lit up as she opened her eyes.
"I did it!" She exclaimed out of amusement.
