Chapter 10 - planning for birthday party

Sure."

"Alrighty then, I'LL BE OFF THEN!"

"See you later, Sensei!"

"Bye bye!"

"Bye~!"

"Bye~!"

With his teacher leaving, Misaki sighed once again. For the next few days, all he could think about was his upcoming birthday. He didn't mind celebrating it, especially since it was his last one on earth. He wasn't scared to die, or anything. Death wasn't scary at all. He wasn't scared of dying. He knew death was coming for him eventually, whether or not he liked it. He accepted that fact. He simply accepted it. However, he was terrified that he would die during his birthday. In the past, his father had told him many times that he wanted to kill him. That if he hadn't been born, Misaki would have killed his mother. And that if he hadn't been born, he would have done the same to his sister. His family didn't have good blood relations with the Amami's, which had been going on for generations. And if anything were to happen to Misaki... He didn't even want to think of it. And so he refused to celebrate his birthday.

However, he would always be reminded of it every single year. Every time his birthday was brought up. And whenever anyone mentioned itSure."

However, he would always be reminded of it every single year. Every time his birthday was brought up. And whenever anyone mentioned it, I'11 see you later then," Yamato smiled as he stood up from his desk, beginning to walk towards the exit. Misaki watched as he walked out the door. Then his smile faded as he looked down at his desk once more.

"Hey, Misaki. You okay?"

"Huh?" Misaki blinked, glancing up at Yamatonokami, "Oh, yeah. Sorry. I guess my mind was elsewhere."

"You look troubled. Is something wrong?"

"Uh... no, I don't think so," Misaki shook his head, "Why?"

"I dunno. I just noticed. You seemed kinda distant today," Yamatonokami frowned a bit, "Is there anything I can help with?"

"Hm..." Misaki trailed off for a moment, thinking about it, "Actually, yeah. Could you come over sometime tonight? To play games, I mean," Misaki added quickly as he smiled awkwardly.

"Sure thing! I can do that," Yamatonokami smiled brightly.

"Really? Thank you!"

"Of course, man. Anything for you," Yamatonokami laughed, placing his hand on his shoulder, "And if you need a hug, I can give you one anytime."

"Thanks, Yamatotoro."

"Anytime, man."

"Ohbefore I forget. My father asked if you'd mind going to meet him in town, tomorrow. In the afternoon. So he can tell you about the business meeting he wants to talk to you about."

"Oh, that's right. He wanted to schedule a meeting," Yamato recalled, "Sorry to cancel last minute, man. Guess I forgot."

"It's okay. We can reschedule."

"Okay, cool. Oh, and don't forget that you promised to teach me more piano today," Yamato reminded.

"Oh, right. I still haven't started that yet," Misaki remembered. He groaned as he rubbed his forehead with his left hand.

"Don't stress yourself too much, Misaki," Yamatonokami warned.

"I'm sorry, Sensei. I will try. I just hate missing the opportunity to play the piano whenever I want."

"That's alright. You have plenty of other opportunities to practice. Besides, I'm sure it won't hurt to wait until next week."

"Yeah," Misaki agreed, nodding his head as he stared down at the table, "Yeah. Alright. Thanks."

"No worries," Yamatonokami assured him as he began heading toward the door.

"Wait, Sensei," Misaki called out to him.Hm?"

"Will you tell dad I'm coming?"

"Oh, sure."

"Thanks, Sensei," Misaki muttered, smiling gratefully at him.

"Any time, Man," Yamatonokami responded as he smiled back. Misaki nodded at him.

"Thank you," Misaki repeated. Yamatonokami nodded.

As soon as they exited the room, Misaki let out a sigh, letting his shoulders drop as he relaxed. The day finally ended. It had gone by quickly, which was quite surprising since Misaki didn't expect anything to happen. But things usually always did.

But maybe that was good. After all, things were finally looking up for Misaki.

Misaki grinned happily to himself. Things weren't exactly perfect in the world, but they were getting better. At least they were starting to. Misaki was happy with how things were going. the end
