Chapter 29 - Nest Avenue shootout #2

Pulling the trigger.. *Bang* ...I saw Robert's head quickly swung back as the bullet tore through his forehead, splattering a bit of his blood on the car besides him.

Watching him fall to the ground, I quickly holstered my gun and turn my head towards Christian on the ground and extended my hand unto him.

"Come quick!" I said as he watch my open palm.

Slightly chuckling, Christian took my hand before I began to pull him towards the nearby cover.

*Bang, *Bang*

Turning my head towards the back, I can see the rest of the gang firing their guns at the enemy's direction as they provided cover fire as I continued to drag Christian.

*Bang, *Bang, *Bang*

Spark like effects erupted at every directions as bullets ricocheted everywhere.

Windows shattered while nearby neighbors scream in panic as stray bullets flew in every direction.

*Bang, *Bang*

But that was until I saw a few of Jamie's lackeys rise from their covers and began to open fire at our direction, suppressing our gang's cover fire and prompting our guys to take cover and reload their guns.

*Bang, *Bang, *Bang*

Shit!

"Ugh f*ck, I'm feeling f*cking cold right now... and everywhere is so loud!" Christian weakly muttered as he clutched his bleeding wound on his shoulder.

"Shh, don't worry... you'll be alright." I responded as I continued to drag him towards the nearest cover which is just a few meters behind me.

But that was until I saw Jamie suddenly peeking from his cover, his gun raised and aimed towards us.

"For my sister!" I hear him shout as he stared at us with open hatred.

F*CK!

I quickly and carefully dropped Christian on the ground before reaching out for my pistol tucked in my pants.

Sh*t!

But my hands are shaking so much that I am now struggling just to pull out my gun.

And I also know that every second is as precious as diamonds, making the pressure around me heavier.

C'mon, f*cking sh*tty ass gun!

But by the time I already had my gun pulled out, I knew it was already too late.

It seems as if time had already slowed down as I watch helplessly while Jamie slowly pulls the trigger.

F*ck, I'm sorry.... for being so f*cking useless and weak.

But that was until I suddenly heard a gunshot behind Jamie.

*Bang*

huh?

I watched as Jamie's upper head suddenly erupted into gore as pieces of his brain and bone flew everywhere like a volcano, his blood staining the van besides him.

It was then followed by his body slowly dropping on the ground.

*Thump*

Revealing a man with a revolver, it's barrel still smoking with it's recent shot, along with several men in suits, all armed with assault rifles.

Holy cow.... is that you?... Mark f*cking Wellington?!

The rest of Jamie's lackeys all dropped their guns in fear and raised their hands after seeing the new party crasher behind them.

"P-Please, we-" one of them wasn't able to finish his sentence as Mark aimed his revolver towards the poor man and pulled the trigger.

*Bang*

The guy was dead before he can even hit the ground.

*Thump*

"Kill them" Mark merely said as his followers behind him all raised their rifles towards the surrendering men and showered all of them with lead.

*Brrt, *Brrt, *Brrt*

I then watched as Mark began to make his way towards me, his face full of concern.

"Hey Albert, are you okay?!" He began to ask me as he places his hand on my shoulder.

Frozen, I couldn't think of any words to say.

"Y-Yeah?... but my friend here is hurt, we need an ambulance." I managed to blurt out after a few seconds of silence.

"Shit Albert, I didn't know you were into this." He then moved his eyes towards Christian who was currently unconscious on the ground below.

"Alright, I'll take care all of this." He then turned his head around and motioned for one of his guys, "Hey Mickey, go get a f*cking ambulance, we got a wounded here, faster!" he then turn his head back and smiled at me.

"You're okay, all of this.. it's been taken care of." He pat me on the shoulder again.

Just what the...

"T-Thanks" I said as tears starts to form on my eyes.

Is all of this worth it?

"No problem." Mark smiled once again.

Smiling back, I turn my head towards the back and found the rest of the boys slowly come out from their covers, their expression full of confusion and surprise.

Especially Kevin who has his eyes darting off between the assault rifles Mark's men were carrying.

Turning around again, I stared at Christian who is now being carried by Mark's men in the distance.

"Is he going to be okay?" I once again ask out of worry.

How could Sarah ever forgive me when she sees Christian like that.

"He's just been through shock and passed out from severe pain, all you need to do is put pressure on the wound and the bleeding will stop, my men can do that until an ambulance arrives." Mark explained.

Staring right through his eyes, I slightly nod my head, accepting Christian's fate is on their hands now.

Oh right, I have one more last job to do...

"I got to go." I quickly said to Mark as I raised my gun and starts to reload it with my last bit of ammunition I have on me.

Staring right at Jamie's house a block away, I feel cold rage boiling up inside of me.

Got to make these f*ckers extinc.

"Hey! where are you going?!" Mark demanded as he stepped in front of me.

"Move" I hissed in anger.

"Not if you tell me where are you going, do you know why I am here in the first place?"

Tilting my head in confusion, I motioned for him to continue.

"Anna, she's worried sick about you, she begged me to come and find you, saying you're involved into some gang activities, turns out she's right."

Staring at him wide eyes, I couldn't help but inwardly chuckle, dissipating some of my anger inside of me.

But seeing Mark right now, I reckon she didn't tell him about Jamie and what they did to her some time ago.

"I have to meet someone." I said half truthfully.

Mark stares at me for a moment and eventually sighed.

"I'll come with you." I stared at him with surprise once again.

"What?! you need to leave, the cops are probably on their way here!" I placed a hand on his chest and yelled at his face.

Seeing him undisturbed by my recent outburst, I couldn't help but stare at him with mixed impressions.

"The cops, well... I have taken care of that." Mark merely shrugged.

Is this guy some kind of a f*cking god? bend things into his will.

So... inspiring.

Imagine what I would be able to do if I was like him, think of the power.

Yes.. the power.

Jamie and his friends... they're just stepping stones for me.

"Alright, follow me." I merely said as I began to make my way towards Jamie's house, with Mark trailing behind me.

After a few minutes of walking and the occasional skipping over the dead bodies that littered the ground below, I found myself staring at Jamie's house in front of me.

Pushing the fence gate open, I began to walk towards the door.

"I hope you know what you're doing." Mark said as he stood besides me.

"Stay here, don't follow me inside." I said as I place my hand on the door knob.

"Can't promise that." He shrugged.

Sighing, I twisted the knob and slowly pulled the door open.

I immediately raised my pistol as I slowly entered the house.

Memories...

Glancing between furnitures in the living room, I spot a stairway leading upwards and began to make my way towards there, but not before checking the kitchen if anybody was there, once I found no one, I continued on my way and climbed the stairs.

The place is so damn quiet that every step I take produces a creaking sound that can probably wake the entire neighborhood.

But that was until I suddenly heard a voice upstairs.

"Jamie my son? are you there?" a male voice said.

Grinning, I continued my way upstairs and was met by an empty space except for two doors in front of me that leads to different rooms.

"Jamie?" I heard a female voice coming from the left door.

Bingo.

"Hey son, are you okay?!" the same female voice sounded once again.

"Honey, let me check it" the male voice from earlier replied.

"N-No, it's dangerous, maybe it's not-" but before the female voice could finish her sentence, I immediately kicked the door open and aimed my pistol towards the couple that was currently huddling each other in the dark corner of the room.

"AAAAH!" the woman screamed as she clutched her husband in front of him.

"PLEASE DON'T!" the man begged as he lowered his head on the ground.

"DON'T HURT US, I BEG OF YOU!" the woman followed suit, her tears staining the white blouse that she is currently wearing.

Seeing the miserable couple in front of me, I couldn't help but chuckle.

"Die b*tches!" I yelled as I aimed my pistol towards them and pulled the trigger multiple times.

"Pleas-"

*Bang, *Bang, *Bang, *Bang*

I watched as the couple's blood splattered the white walls of the room, creating an eerie sensation inside as the bloodied bodies drop and lie on the ground motionless.

"Hey Albert! what the hell happened there!" I can hear Mark yell outside as he begins to make his way inside the house and upstairs.

F*ck, I've really done it... again.
