"Why did you?" Hana asked, getting closer to him so she could read his eyes as he spoke.
Avoiding her attempt at reading his expression, he turned his back on her.
'I had never felt a strong connection to anyone after I had lost my family, yet I thought the spark I had felt would be something for the better...but I was wrong.'
Alex looked at the floor, downcast by his thinking.
"Let's forget I ever started this conversation," Alex blatantly turned down her curiosity. "You wouldn't understand."
'Are you kidding me?!' Hana's mouth dropped, feeling played for keeping her hopes high.
"Fine!" She spat, "it's time to set up some rules between us."
This was enough reason to get his attention, hoping the day goes by faster than he needed it to.
"We have three rules to go by..." She brought up her fingers.
Alex had to stifle a laugh at her silly gesture and zeal for the rules.
