Rebecca calmly opened the door and walked to the lounge area, and saw her Mother, Father, brother, and grandfather all sitting there.
Before she could say a thing, her grandfather yelled "What time do you think this is. Do you think that I can wait around forever? We have things to discuss, in particular, what is going to happen with you."
Straightening her back Rebecca swept her gaze around those present before saying "Grandfather my understanding was that this was to be a filmy family catchup, not for your to straight away start lecturing me."
Before Rebecca could react, her grandfather stood up and moved across the room, slapped her on the face before dragging her and throwing her onto a couch before saying "You will treat me with respect."
"Respect Grandfather is earned, not demanded."
Another loud slap carried through the room before "I am your elder, and you owe me respect."
Rebecca turned her head and looked at her brother Justin who shook his head slightly. She pulled herself up and sat down before saying "Yes Mr President!"
As he drew his hand back a third time, Justin moved over and stood between the two of them, and loudly saying "Grandfather, please stop this..."
"Do not tell me what to do, you have no right."
Justin shook his head before saying "You really want to play that game? You really want to cause an international incident, over what was a simple request, I am quite happy to. Do not forget who you are talking to."
"You will really do that?"
"I would. You snapped at Becca before she could even say a thing, and I would not be a brother if I did not protect my little sister. Now sit down where you were sitting, and at least let Rachael say something before you snap at her further."
After glaring at Rebecca again, President Fu-Gan moved back and sat down in the chair Justin had pointed to, before Justin sat down beside Rachael, kissed her cheek, and whispered "Lovely to see you sis. I missed you."
Rachael nodded, and looked at their grandfather, before saying "My apologies, Mummy, Daddy, Grandfather. I slept in this morning and was not able to get a taxi to get here until I agreed to pay double the fare with the driver who brought me just to the edge of the neighbourhood before he dropped me, so I had to walk in…"
"Idiot. I told you I would send you a car."
"Grandfather," came Rebecca shaking her head. "When I told Mummy and Daddy what I wanted to do with school, we reached an agreement. Provided I maintain my grades and do some outside work, they worked with the school principal for everyone to believe that I was given a scholarship to attend the school, and that means that I do not have cars collect me. It means that I catch Taxi's and buses to get places. That makes me as normal as I can ever be, despite being your granddaughter, grandfather, a princess and the sister to the heir to the throne in Country D."
Angrily, the President responded "You are those things, and nothing changes that. I have my plans for you."
Rebecca noticed Justin had reached over and placed his hand on her arm, singling to her to be careful in what she said. Taking a breath, Rebecca said "Grandfather, my plans are simple. I am going to finish high school in the way I have been, achieving high level grades. Then I am going to university to continue my learning before developing a career."
"Not going to happen. I told you I have my plans for you, and you will be doing what I say. And you, Justin needs to listen to what I have to say as well."
Before Rebecca could respond, Justin said "Grandfather, we both respect you, and as a family elder will listen to you, but you have no right to dictate what happens to us. And do you really want to fight me?"
President Fu-Gan, snorted, and said "Seriously. This is my country, and my grandchildren will do as I dictate."
Justin stood up, pulling Rebecca with him, and said "Not going to happen. Mother and Father, I am going to apologise in advance for what I am about to say, because I know that the two of you love us. The two of you are the perfect example of why this is not going to happen. Grandfather you manipulated them into a situation where their marriage became inevitable. Neither of them is happy, and have never been happy since that day. The only joy for them in their relationship is us, their children. They want to end things, yet you use your power to prevent them from divorcing and seeking their happiness elsewhere and use your power to prevent them from going anywhere without your permission. Hell, it is only because of who I am that you cannot prevent my access to my passport."
"My country, my rules, my son will not divorce the cousin of the King of Country D; nor will the parents of the future king be divorced. My Grandson will marry who I say, and my granddaughter's marriage is arranged for the day that she graduates High School."
Rebecca spat out "NO!"
