Chapter 23: Sisterly Reunion

— Amy Dallon —

Watching Midas, Jin, get out of bed and pour himself a drink, she glared at the man who was manipulating her entire family like puppets dancing to his tune.

"Would you like a drink before we start?" Jin asked calmly, utterly unphased by her glare as she glowered at him before sighing and nodding, snatching the glass out of his hands as he returned to the bed, downing it in a single swig before she took his glass out of spite, making him chuckle.

Old Amy would be disappointed in her, ruining her liver like this, but new Amy was pissed off and hurt.

"So, yes. I am Prophet, I'm also Midas and a couple of other people, in no small part thanks to you making me those body doubles," Jin admitted, making her wince at the realisation that she'd made his deception much easier. "Any questions?"

"You're manipulating my family, causing problems for them so you can help fix them as Prophet. You're manipulating Vicky, toying with her emotions and using her," Amy growled, making him laugh.

"Ah, it all comes back to Victoria," Jin said, making her blush at his amused tone, well aware of her obsession with Vicky.

"You're a piece of shit, using her feelings to twist her into one of your pawns, and I helped you. You've twisted both of us to suit your own sadistic whims," Amy said angrily, hating the way Midas l seemed entirely unphased by her words. "Pretending to care about us so you can use us."

"Amy, I know this will come as a surprise, but while I manipulate everyone, that doesn't mean I don't care about them. I do care for Vicky, more than I expected to if I'm being entirely honest, as I do for you," Jin said with a sincere tone.

She hated the way her heart sped up at his words, but she tried to shake it off, not falling for his honeyed words.

"I didn't twist or corrupt you, I gave you every opportunity to leave after I worked out the healing pods, you came back to me because you can't stand being Panacea. You came to me because I gave you a taste of freedom, and you can't give it up," Jin reminded her, giving her a smile as she looked away in shame. "You have nothing to be ashamed of, you've done more for the world than almost any other hero, certainly more than Brandish. You deserve the rest, especially now that the healing pods are going to be spread out to the world."

"You're just saying what you think I want to hear," Amy replied, making him smile.

"No, that's the truth. Besides, now that you've started to truly experiment with your powers, do you really think you can go back to doing nothing but healing?" Jin asked, making her freeze. "You'd last a week before you got caught, and even if all you did was change the colour of some flower petals, Carol would start screaming biotinker and the PRT would immediately come down on you despite everything you've done for them. Piggot is too paranoid to trust her own capes, let alone an independent biotinker. You wouldn't get a single word out before she was screaming for you to be birdcaged. What do you think they'd do if they saw your greenhouse? Your giant man-eating plant that has tried to eat me no less than three times, thankfully it doesn't like the taste of gold."

She didn't respond to his claim, knowing it was true. Director Piggot was in constant pain, in a dying body, and even with Panacea frequently nearby she'd never even let Amy get within arm's reach.

…she couldn't bring herself to get rid of her first creation, even if it tried to eat everyone except her. If the PRT saw it… if they saw the things she'd made for fun, they'd be shouting for a kill order immediately.

"But Vicky-"

"Is a reckless, narcissistic teenage girl with too much power and no self control," Jin cut in, making her glare. "I love Vicky, I do, but you know I'm right. Vicky needs someone to guide her, Carol spoils her and Mark is too busy fighting his own demons to rein her in. Vicky needs a firm guiding hand, and she's thriving with me providing that. You needed to be spoiled, to be told that you don't owe the world your every waking moment, to be shown that someone does care about you instead of just Panacea, Vicky needed someone resistant to her aura to teach her some discipline or it was only a matter of time until she did something even you couldn't fix and the PRT hit her with the book," Jin explained, making her pause. "What is it that everyone calls her again?"

"…collateral damage barbie," Amy answered quietly, remembering all the times she'd had to heal someone who had gotten hurt by Vicky's lack of control, either directly because Vicky lost her temper or indirectly because she didn't consider her surroundings.

"You're evil, using us to take over the city," Amy tried, her words holding less heat.

"I am, because Brockton needs taking over. Do you know why I'm playing both hero and villain? It's because Brockton Bay needs both. I will drag this city out of its decaying state and into a golden age, but I need both Midas who can break the rules and Prophet who can interact with the good guys to do so," Jin explained, sounding almost heroic as she tried to find the fault in his words.

"I could expose you, reveal your deception to the world," Amy threatened.

"You could, but you're mistaken about how much that would inconvenience me. Victoria would be heartbroken of course, assuming she believed you over me, you'd have to admit that you ran off to play around in a supervillain hideout, that you're more than just a healer, and Prophet would be… retired. That simply means that I'd have to use more brutal methods as Midas, the PRT and the independent heroes would lose access to my power upgrading while the villains would continue to grow stronger until the heroes were simply overwhelmed. You would single-handedly sign the death sentence for heroism in Brockton Bay," Jin explained, as easily as he would take about the weather. "You'd ruin your life, the lives of your family and for what, to mildly inconvenience me?"

Jin said that with such confidence that she couldn't help but believe him, couldn't help but believe that nothing she could do would actually slow Jin's progress.

"But we both know the truth. If you left today, and you are welcome to, you'd come crawling back. You can't go back to being Panacea any more than I could go back to being a regular businessman. You like being my Amelia, you know you do," Jin said smugly, brushing his hand against her cheek, smirking as she instinctively pushed her cheek against his hand.

"So I should just stay quiet, let you manipulate my entire family?" Amy spat out. "Hide away in your base forever?"

"Of course not, you can't stay here forever. Vicky misses you, and there's a limit of how long you can be out of the public eye before people start to ask questions. No, I already have a plan to move you back into the public eye, I was just waiting for you to confront me," Jin explained simply, making her freeze.

"You knew-

"That you worked out I am Prophet? Amy, I'm a thinker," Jin said simply, making her blush. "You've suspected for a while, but you never brought it up because you didn't want our time together to end."

She was scum.

"No, Amy, stop thinking like that," Jin ordered, making her blush as he placed a hand on her face and gently kissed her forehead. "You deserved the vacation."

"What is this master plan of yours?" Amy asked, avoiding the subject of how terrible she was.

"I tell Vicky that I'm your mysterious friend, that Prophet has been sheltering you because you were so very close to burning out, she'll accept it and mostly just be happy you're back. We'll tell her that your argument with Carol was about Carol pushing you to heal more instead of Carol's infidelity," Jin explained.

"And when Carol sees I'm back?" Amy asked. Carol would immediately blame her for everything, demanding she go back to the hospital to give New Wave that sweet PR she needed so desperately.

"Carol has found herself… no longer in control of New Wave, much like Victoria, Carol has long needed a firm hand to discipline her, and with the information you gave me I've been able to keep Carol under control as Prophet," Jin explained, and that should make her feel bad. It didn't.

The idea that Carol was being controlled by a villain because of her, sent a vicious thrill through her body, showing her just how far she had fallen.

— Carol Dallon —

"I know, frankly it's for the best," Jin said calmly, speaking over the phone as she listened in.

She didn't hear the response on the other end, he wasn't on speaker and she was also a little… occupied at the moment.

Her lips wrapped around Jin's cock as she knelt under his expensive wooden desk, utterly naked as she serviced her new boss.

"Yes, Eric will be joining the New York Wards, while Neil will be joining the Protectorate, Eric will be far safer in New York, they don't let their Wards actually fight any serious villains," Jin reassured Sarah, chuckling at her response. "While I understand your position, I really don't think you should be wishing for Manpower to get killed by the Teeth, he's out of your hair, the divorce is already finalised and his reputation is in tatters."

It was settled then, New Wave was finished.

"No, New Wave will survive this. I originally planned a bit of a rebrand, but I don't think that will be necessary. Just leave everything to me, New Wave won't be brought down by one man who couldn't keep it in his pants," Jin promised, looking down at her as he replied to Sarah. "New Wave will thrive, I promise you that."

She believed him, as much as she didn't like the perverted bastard, he was undeniably a genius. He could save New Wave, they just had to listen to him.

"Yes, I've arranged a new home for you and Crystal, a very nice apartment. It's all paid for, don't worry about that, trust me I can afford it, besides Crystal has already moved her things in," Jin laughed. "You might have to fight her for the master bedroom."

Sarah had mentioned that she was moving, she didn't want to stay in the big house now that it was mostly empty. She was staying in Brockton, Crystal was even moving back home to support her mother and doing her course remotely.

"Another massage already? Aren't you a needy one," Jin teased, making Carol frown as he flirted with her sister while she was servicing him. "I suppose I can fit you into my tight schedule, I'll help you move your things into your new home tomorrow, and after that I'm sure I can find the time to help you work off all that stress."

Jin gripped her hair, forcing her head down as he started to cum, making her swallow the thick, sticky load that he was pumping into her mouth.

She didn't resist, even as she glared up at him, obediently swallowing each rope of cum that spurted into her mouth, the familiar taste making her rub her thighs together.

"Oh, is that so? I'm definitely looking forward to giving you your massage then," Jin said with a sultry tone. "Neil truly was a fucking idiot to lose you, but that's his loss and my gain."

Jin listened to the reply she couldn't hear, before he smiled

"I always have time for you, Sarah, it was nothing. Yes, I'll see you tomorrow, wear something sexy for me," Jin ordered, did Sarah even recognise it as an order? "Good girl. Good night, Sarah."

Putting the phone down, he smirked down at her as he finally let go of her hair, letting her pull her head up.

"You think you can save New Wave?" Carol asked, uncaring of the cum leaking down her chin.

"I can, I intend to turn you into the pinnacle of independents which all other independent heroes aspire to be like," Jin said easily, moving back as he gestured for her to rise up. "And I don't fail."

"All we have to do is listen to you, right?" Carol asked acidicly.

"Now you're getting it," Jin agreed, uncaring of her tone. "New Wave will be made into an icon, with or without you. If you don't fall in line, I'll simply inform Sarah of exactly who Neil cheated with and you can join Neil in shame, moving cities and rebranding at best. Or you can be a good girl and listen to me, watching your name and fame rise to greater heights than ever before."

"Even though you're a perverted piece of shit?" Carol asked, making him chuckle.

"We all have our vices, nobody is perfect. Mine is women, you are a control freak who betrayed your husband and sister at the same time, endangering two marriages and New Wave itself. But you're not in control anymore, are you?" Jin asked as he stood up and groped her breast.

"…no," Carol replied quietly.

"Now, be a good girl and tell me who is in charge," Jin whispered into her ear, making her hesitate before she reminded herself that this was to make up for her mistakes.

She was doing this to save New Wave from her own actions, because she deserved to be punished.

"You are, sir," Carol whispered back, a traitorous thrill running through her body as he smirked at her.

"Was that so hard?" Jin asked, sitting back down as he gestured at his cock. "Now, bend over the desk and spread your legs, your mouth is getting better with all your recent experience but I want to fuck your slutty little pussy again."

Turning around, she bent over the desk and pressed her large breasts against the wood, legs spreading wide as she felt him move behind her and press the tip of his cock against her slit.

As he slammed into her, filling her inner passages with his thick shaft, she let out a low moan and gripped the desk, barely reacting as he spanked her fat buttocks and made them jiggle.

This was for New Wave, this was because she needed to be controlled, this was her punishment for betraying Mark, for betraying Sarah, for treating Amy so harshly when she was the bad one.

She deserved to be used like this.

That's why it felt so right.

— Amy Dallon —

"Carol may try to demand you go back to healing, and if she does I'll handle her," Jin continued. "So yes, you could leave, expose my deception, and mildly inconvenience me in exchange for ruining your own life, breaking Vicky's heart, destroying New Wave because Carol doesn't have a single clue how to handle the PR shitshow it's facing and signing the death sentence for the PRT."

She shrunk into herself with every word, his casual explanation of how much damage she'd do to everything but him.

"And while I do think you might be petty enough to ruin your own life to spite me, I do love that vicious, petty streak of yours, I don't think you'll doom your family like that," Jin said confidently, she never really had a chance did she?

She'd been dancing to his tune from the first time agreed to meet with him.

"Or?" Amy asked, making him smile.

"Or you could be a good girl and stay quiet, New Wave thrives under my leadership, you get to continue your new relaxed lifestyle, and Brockton Bay continues to recover as I… remove the problematic elements," Jin answered, before smirking. "And of course, you finally get what you've wanted for so long."

Amy froze at his words, gulping as she immediately worked out what he meant.

"You know I had a threesome with Crystal and Vicky recently, it's not even a particularly rare occurrence, do you really think Vicky wouldn't be up for a threesome with me and you?" Jin asked, and despite her best efforts she couldn't help but imagine it, which he clearly knew as he smirked. "Everyone benefits, except the more damaging villainous elements who will find themselves no longer welcome in Brockton Bay, and all you have to do is not ruin such a good thing."

"…promise me you won't hurt Vicky," Amy finally said, quietly as she looked away.

"That's the last thing I want to do, I swear to you I have no plans to hurt Vicky, emotionally or physically… although she does like a little pain during our liaisons," Jin admitted, making her blush as she pictured Vicky and Jin together.

"I-" Amy started, hesitating as she asked herself if she was really going to do this, before sighing. Yes, she was. "I won't tell anyone."

She wasn't a hero anymore, she was no more a hero than Prophet himself was, she was a villain the world thought was a hero. She was throwing her lot in with a supervillain who wanted to take over the city.

To make it better, a quiet part in the back of her mind whispered, reminding her of how much things had gotten better since Jin arrived in Brockton.

"I know," Jin replied, with the same confidence he always showed. As if her decision was never in doubt, that this was just the inevitable conclusion of their conversation.

Somehow, that made her feel better.

"You're less attractive when you're so smug," Amy grumbled, making him laugh and place a long kiss on her lips.

"Liar," Jin whispered, kissing her neck as she tilted her head up, letting herself fall back on the bed with him on top of her, her legs spreading instinctively. "You love it, you love the idea that you are mine, that you don't have to worry about making choices because I'll make them for you. You love the idea of just letting go."

She whimpered as he said that, feeling the heat of his cock slap against her pussy, already wet from their earlier games.

"That's not-" Amy tried, moaning as he skilfully played with her body.

"Yes it is, don't lie to me Amelia. You are mine, now be a good girl and say it," Jin demanded, the tip of his cock pressing against her needy lower lips.

"I… I'm yours, Jin," Amy finally said, her doubts smothered as he thrust forwards and filled her tight pussy, smirking down at her.

"See, was that so hard?" Jin asked, his tone heavy with lust as she blushed, giving him a dirty look.

"…I'm still pissed off at you," Amy replied, grabbing him and flipping them over so he was on his back.

"Oh?" Jin asked, his hands on her hips. "Then should we stop? Would you like some space?"

His tone was mocking, knowing she didn't want him to leave as she started to ride him.

"Shut up, I'm horny so I'm just using you for sex," Amy said, making him grin up at her, watching her breasts jiggle with each bounce. "So stay quiet and let me have my fun, it's the least you can do for being such a prick."

"Ah, of course. By all means, use away," Jin said, putting his hands behind his head as he laid back and let her take over.

He was such an asshole, but she'd thrown her lot in with him now.

If she was going to be a villain's pet healer, she might as well embrace her bitchy side as well. Jin deserved some shit for all the bullshit he'd fed her.

Stupid smug smile, stupid fat cock, stupid entirely too smart Jin.

— Victoria Dallon —

Leaving Midas' office, she immediately messaged Jin hoping that whatever was occupying his time before was over.

She needed to talk to him, to tell him what nearly happened, if Prophet found out that she nearly let Midas fuck her from his brother…

She couldn't lose him like she had Dean, even if she was frankly happier without Dean than she'd ever been with him.

She and Dean hadn't been a good match, she could see that so obviously now, why else would they split up every other month, but she felt right with Jin, like she truly belonged, and she wouldn't let Midas ruin that.

What the fuck did that asshole even want, why practically blackmail her into agreeing to sleep with him only to tell her she wasn't good enough for him?!

Was he just trying to get between her and Jin, to show Jin that she wasn't loyal? But what was she supposed to do, let someone be murdered because of her actions?

Jin actually replied, apologising for missing her earlier call, apparently he was helping her mother deal with the clusterfuck that was Uncle- no, just Neil's infidelity.

That was something else that infuriated her, how dare that piece of shit cheat on Aunt Sarah? It was funny, Jin had a dozen lovers (including her cousin and aunt) but they had an understanding, she didn't feel like flying off the handle like she did when girls hung around Dean.

She was confident in her place by Jin's side, he cared for her and she loved him, something she could admit to herself, and besides… other girls joining the relationship could be very fun.

Where the hell did Crystal learn to do that thing with her tongue?

Plus, Sarah needed cheering up after it became apparent that Neil was a cheating bastard, and she was certainly happier after her massage.

Heading to meet with him, she prepared herself for his anger, she stripped for his brother, his rival, she would have slept with Midas if Midas hadn't decided she didn't meet his standards. Jin was going to be furious, but she'd rather be the one to tell him, face things head on and do whatever it took to win his trust back.

Arriving, she entered his office, seeing him leaning against his desk looking all sexy as he took a sip of his drink.

He paused as he spotted her, eyes narrowing as his big thinker brain immediately realised something was wrong.

"Vicky, what's wrong?" Jin asked, making her pause before she immediately started to spill everything.

How she'd fucked up, how she'd had to go to Midas to save that thugs life, what she'd done, what she would have done. She didn't try to hide anything, knowing she couldn't lie to Jin and frankly not wanting to, the guilt eating away at her.

Jin remained quiet while she spoke, listening carefully as he guided her to sit down on the couch, holding her hand as she spilled her guts.

Finishing her story, she looked at him hesitantly, waiting for his anger and vitriol, which she deserved.

She hadn't been willing but she'd put herself in that position because she lost her temper.

"Vicky, relax. I'm not angry. Well," I'm not angry at you, Midas is a different story," Jin said soothingly, gently circling his thumb on the back of her hand as he paused, clearly thinking.

"But I almost cheated on you, no I did cheat on you, giving him a fucking strip tease, I was going to let him fuck me to save a fucking Neo-nazi," Vicky replied quickly, making him smile.

"No, you were almost raped. That's what it would have been, rape. He had a metaphorical gun to someone's head and demanded you do those things," Jin explained. "He forced you, not all force is physical. I'm not Dean, I'm not going to jump to conclusions over something that was almost not your fault. What you did wrong was let a skinhead goad you and make you lose your temper."

She couldn't help but relax, even with her guilt still gnawing away at her, lessened by Jin's kind soothing words, even as he scolded her.

"I should have just beat Midas up," Vicky grumbled, making Jin chuckle.

"Midas wouldn't have shown his face in front of you if there was a chance he could lose. Without being there I don't know what trick he had planned, whether it was a body double, a robot, or just some powerful backup waiting in the wings," Jin explained, making her sigh. She hated dealing with evil thinkers. "I'd say an evil twin, but he's already the evil twin so…"

"What did he even get out of that? You told me he doesn't do anything without there being some benefit for him, he's already seen me naked since he stole my phone, what did he even get out of all that," Vicky asked, complaining as Jin paused.

"One thing to know about Midas is that he is petty, for all the effort he puts into his benevolent godfather act, he's a petty man who hates when things don't go his way. Whatever he had planned for New Wave has been disrupted by us, and that stings. He hates losing more than anything else," Jin explained, which made her feel better at the idea of Midas scowling to himself in his secret lair. "He made you strip to humiliate you, and he probably planned to fuck you to try and get between us, he likely would have recorded it and sent it to me to get some petty victory."

"So why didn't he?" Vicky asked, making him laugh.

"Because he knows I'm not so easily manipulated, I'd see it for what it truly was and while it would hurt you, it wouldn't make me dump you, it'd just make me want to get revenge, our cold war would heat up considerably and he didn't want that. Instead, he realised that by refusing to fuck you, by claiming you weren't good enough, he'd hurt your pride even more than if he actually went through with it, that's all this was. He knows you are vain, don't give me that look you know I'm right, and that the implication that you didn't meet his standards would get under your skin," Jin explained, making her blush at him casually calling her out for her vanity.

"…that's it?" Vicky asked in disbelief. She didn't deny that Midas had gotten under her skin, she knew she was hot and being told she wasn't good enough for a fucking villain pissed her off.

"Like I said, he's extremely petty," Jin sighed, rubbing his forehead in irritation. "Vicky, he's fucking Squealer, Skidmark's sloppy seconds. Do you really think he doesn't want you?"

She paused, before snorting in amusement.

"God, I hate that asshole, and everyone thinks he's such a saint, the saviour of Brockton Bay. Do you know he's setting up food banks and homeless shelters? What kind of villain does that?" Vicky asked, making Jin laugh again.

She never knew how to react to what Midas was doing, because he was an evil asshole and yet… even she couldn't deny that he was helping the city massively. She'd heard people talking about moving out of the nice parts of the city and into the new apartment buildings Midas was having built on the land that used to have rundown drug dens.

"That's simple, an egotistical one. Midas is a narcissist with a god complex, he isn't helping people out of the kindness of his heart but because he wants to be adored, and because he can't stand his territory looking so run down. It's for the good of the city, but his true goal is to appease his own vanity and ego," Jin explained, making her nod.

Yeah, that sounded about right.

"That's why he calls himself King Midas, Brockton Bay is his self-proclaimed kingdom and a failing kingdom reflects poorly on its ruler," Jin continued.

"Ugh, he's such an asshole," Vicky whined, making Jin chuckle.

"He just might agree with you, but it's actually in our favour. He's spending time and resources fixing his territory, instead of focusing on expanding. It slows him down a lot, that's time and resources he could spend fucking over the other gangs and the heroes. Plus, it means we can trust that his men won't act like the ABB, grabbing women off the street to be forced into sexual slavery, or the Empire beating minorities for the crime of existing. Midas is bound by his own code, his own rules, and that's the only reason we stand a chance," Jin admitted, as she considered his words.

What if Midas didn't care about his reputation, if he was as brutal as Lung? The city would be a far worse place.

It didn't make him a good person, he was still an egotistical sociopath, but she couldn't deny Jin was right.

What was she saying, of course the powerful thinker was right about his own brother.

"You think he'd have already won if he wasn't stuck following his code?" Vicky asked quietly, making Jin nod seriously.

"This city is a powder-keg, a single spark could blow the entire thing up. I can think of a dozen ways to have the city self-destruct, massively weakening the PRT and the gangs alike, and more ways for someone like Midas to come in and sweep up the ashes, building an empire on the bones of the PRT, the Empire and the ABB," Jin admitted, and she immediately caught on.

If he could think of them, Midas had probably already considered them. He could have set the powder-keg off and just relaxed and enjoyed the fireworks, even before he announced himself to the world.

He could have come in after the fighting was over, grab the capes left alive and been in a much stronger position.

But he needed his city to thrive, so they could count on him not burning the place down just to win. It scared her that even with him essentially holding back and playing nice, Midas still seemed almost unstoppable.

"Do you think he's going to win?" Vicky finally asked, making Jin pause for a moment.

"No, he's gotten the lead and has had us on the defensive for entirely too long but I won't lose to him. I have a plan, one that could at least slow him down, turn the tides back in our favour," Jin explained, making her look at him in interest. "Leave it with me for now, there's still a few pieces I need to acquire and move into place, but he won't have things go his way quite as easily."

"If you need anything, let me know, I'll always have your back," Vicky swore, making him smile and kiss her gently.

"I know, and I'm counting on it. I won't be able to beat Midas alone, as much as it irritates me to admit it, but I won't be doing this alone," Jin said fondly, making her smile back at him.

"…I still feel guilty about what happened," Vicky admitted.

"Would it help if I told you that I was keeping something secret from you?" Jin asked, making her blink.

"I already know you are, you know way too much after all, I figure you know more secrets than pretty much anyone in the city," Vicky admitted, making him laugh.

"Yes, but this one involves you," Jin admitted, making her pause. "I know where Amy is, I'm actually the one she came to when she ran away," Jin continued as she froze.

"Explain," Vicky asked, eyes narrowing.

"Amy and Carol got into a rather heated argument, to put it simply Amy was massively burnt out from healing constantly, Carol however demanded that Amy keep healing, both to try and help New Wave's PR problems and because she doesn't trust Amy," Jin explained, making her frown.

"Why not? Amy has never done anything wrong, she's practically a fucking saint, sure she's a little catty at times but she's earnt it. Why doesn't mom trust her?" Vicky asked, making Jin pause, clearly choosing his next words carefully before he sighed.

"Because Amy's father was Marquis, and Carol didn't want to adopt her most hated enemy's child. Carol does care for Amy, in her own twisted way, but your mother is… broken. She's convinced that Amy is just one bad day away from following her fathers footsteps, that's why she demands that Amy heal and only heal, it's why she's never treated Amy with the same love she showed you," Jin finally admitted, making her clench her fist, her hand tightening around Jin's.

What a load of horseshit. She knew Amy was adopted but how fucking stupid was it to think Amy was going to turn evil just because her dad was a villain?

"So Amy ran away, and came to you," Vicky asked, making Jin nod.

"She knew that you trusted me, and frankly does Amy have any friends outside of you? Have you ever seen Amy spend time with anyone else?" Jin asked, making her pause, thinking.

The Wards? Well, no Amy healed them a lot but she usually left right afterwards…

There had to be someone, right?

At school she… followed Vicky around, and barely spoke to her friend group.

"Oh."

She genuinely couldn't remember Amy ever spending time with anyone but her, and that made her feel like shit all over again.

"I agreed to stash her away where she wouldn't be kidnapped by opportunistic villains or hounded by people wanting healing, and I didn't tell you because I didn't want to place you between Amy and Carol," Jin admitted.

"Is Amy okay?" Vicky asked, making him nod with a small smile.

"She's doing much better, I've finally managed to get through to her that she doesn't owe the world her every single waking moment, that her schedule was downright dangerous, she'll be cutting her hours at the hospital down and I can handle Carol," Jin explained, making her pause at his confidence. "Carol needs my help to pull New Wave out of the latest fuck up, and much like her beautiful daughter, Carol had also made some reckless mistakes, frankly she needs and owes me too much to argue," Jin continued, making her pause before she shook her head, focusing on Amy.

Her mom didn't really matter right now since this mess was apparently her fault.

"Tell Amy I miss her," Vicky finally said, making him chuckle.

"Tell her yourself, she's outside the door," Jin chuckled, making her freeze as the door opened, Amy stepping in sheepishly.

It was only now that she noticed Jin's other hand was on his phone.

"Hey, Vick-"

Which was as far as Amy got as Vicky dashed forwards, wrapping Amy in a tight hug, careful not to hurt her.

"You should have told me, stupid, or Aunt Sarah, we'd have gotten mom to back off,'' Vicky scolded, making Amy blush and look away.

"I… felt like I had to keep healing, like I was killing people if I took even a small break, Jin was the one who made me realise that I was being so self-destructive," Amy admitted as Vicky paused.

"Wait, you said you were with a boyfriend," Vicky asked, looking towards the sheepish Jin. "Did you talk my emotionally vulnerable little sister out of her panties?"

"Please, if anything I used him," Amy cut in, rolling her eyes with a small smile. "I started it, I used him like a… fleshy meat dildo, sex is really good stress relief."

"That's me, New Wave's personal thinker and emotional support dildo," Jin said dryly. "I gave Amy a massage to help her relax, and you know how that usually goes."

Vicky paused, looking between them, but she couldn't bring herself to get angry as she saw how much healthier Amy looked, the bags under her eyes had faded and her smile seemed more genuine.

"You really are going for the New Wave harem, aren't you? You know, I don't think you're going to be able to add mom to it, even if you got the rest of the collection," Vicky teased, making Jin shrug.

"A shame, I'll have to settle for the younger, prettier model then," Jin replied sadly.

"How've you been Amy? You don't have to return if you don't want to," Vicky said, making Amy smile.

"I've done nothing but lay around, watching Netflix and getting laid in between this smug asshole's mandatory therapy sessions disguised as relaxation, so I'm doing pretty good," Amy joked, making Jin shrug, not denying her words."I'm doing fine, but I've missed you, hell I've even missed dealing with the Wards. Being stuck with just this guy for company even made me miss Clockblocker's dumb jokes."

"Odd, you didn't have any complaints about my company earlier," Jin replied lazily, making Amy blush and give him a dirty look.

"Oh shut up," Amy grumbled. "But yes, I'm coming back, if Carol starts being a bitch again I'll just come and live here instead. It's not like this guy is going to complain about me warming his bed."

"I can truly feel the love, Amy," Jin deadpanned, making her smirk at him.

"I can still feel your love leaking down my leg, you horny bastard," Amy retorted, making Jin shrug.

Watching her sister bicker with Jin, Vicky giggled to herself, because as snarky as Amy was being, Vicky could tell she was fond of Jin.

Her sister was back, her boyfriend wasn't a dumb teenage boy who jumped to conclusions and dumped her, he had a plan to slow down Midas and save New Wave from Neil's fuck up.

Despite the mess with Midas and the panic she felt earlier, today was looking pretty good.

"I saw your photoshoot by the way," Amy said, making her pause before she blushed as she remembered how revealing some of those photos have been. "You know, I'm the only New Wave girl who hadn't been in front of the camera, are you suggesting I don't have why it takes to be a model?"

"I'm suggesting that if I asked you'd probably give me seventeen different forms of STDs," Jin replied easily, making Amy pause before she shrugged, not exactly denying it. "But if you're offering then I'm sure you'd look beautiful in front of the camera, I'm sure your fans would be shocked at how much your baggy clothes hide. I certainly was."

"Ooh, we could do another duo shoot like me and Crystal did!" Vicky suggested, watching Amy freeze. "I mean, if you want-"

"I'd love to!" Amy squeaked quickly.

Naked photoshoot with Vicky, naked photoshoot where their bodies would be pressed together, naked photoshoot that would likely end in a threesome.

All hail Midas, enabler of incestuous threesomes!

— Bonus Scene — Greg Veder

Greg knew he wasn't exactly popular, his theories (which were true!) made him a joke online to the sheep who believed the official statement and never looked deeper.

The girls in his school didn't like him, the guys thought he was a joke, just dumb Greg.

But there was someone who believed in him, who reached out to him in support.

Jogging, he stopped at a specific bench on his path and took a seat next to the older Asian male, the handsome businessman folding his paper up, tucking it under his arm.

"Good afternoon, Greg," he said, making Greg grin at him.

"Hi, Pr- Mr. Yukimura," Greg said, stopping mid-sentence to correct his mistake. He couldn't refer to Jin by his secret identity after all.

"As I've said, you can just call me Jin, Greg. We're partners, after all," Jin said calmly, making him nod in embarrassment.

Nobody would believe that he, Greg Veder, Void Cowboy, actually knew the city's newest thinker, but Jin had messaged him over PHO.

Jin, with his big thinker brain, knew Greg's potential, he knew that Greg was more than the joke people treated him as.

"Sorry, Jin, force of habit," Greg admitted, looking around to make sure nobody was listening. "I did what you asked, nobody pays attention to me at school anyway so nobody noticed," he said proudly, sliding over a journal that Jin slipped out of sight.

He, Greg Veder, was working on the side of the angels, he was going to be a hero.

There was a conspiracy in Winslow, and Jin couldn't access Winslow because an adult spending time in the school would attract all kinds of attention, so Jin approached him.

"I… umm, I don't know how useful the information is going to be, I didn't really see anything that suspicious," Greg admitted, making Jin smile.

"You've done good, Greg, and don't worry. I can make use of anything, no matter how useless it may seem. We're almost ready for the next step, but this is the point of no return," Jin warned seriously, making Greg freeze. "Greg, I want you to become more than my informant, I want you to become a hero, my agent to act where I can't."

Greg felt his heart almost stop at Jin's words, before it started to beat entirely too fast.

"It will be dangerous, I won't lie, but as I said before, you possess immense potential and-" Jin started.

"I'll do it," Greg said immediately, making Jin pause before he smiled.

"I should have known, you have a heroic spirit Greg," Jin praised, making him beam.

"But I don't have any powers… and I don't know how to fight," Greg said hesitantly, making Jin shake his head.

"Don't worry, I can awaken your latent potential and arrange for your training," Jin promised, making him beam as excitement grew within him.

He, Greg Veder of Void Cowboy fame, was going to be a superhero, with Prophet as his mentor.

Together, they'd save the city.

From what? Okay fine he didn't actually know yet, but he trusted that Prophet would tell him when the time came. Besides, the hero's mentor never tells them the truth from the beginning, that was fantasy 101.

Okay, I'll admit, this was a fuck up.

Plague Knight made some very powerful alcohol as a gift and at some point during my drunken adventures I drunk-dm'd void cowboy and now I'm stuck with Greg, but I can certainly make use of him.

Greg doesn't realise it, but he's going to be a useful tool for me in the future.

Pump Up will give him some powers, beyond that I have a plan, Greg Veder will be an essential (and highly expendable) piece in my plan to defeat the PRT.

It's all going according to plan, even if I'm making the plan up as I go.

…next time Plague Knight says 'extremely strong tinker booze', I should trust that yes, it's stronger than I can handle.

At least Bob was there to make sure I didn't do anything too stupid while I was plastered.
