Chapter 1 - House Aurelio

In the distant north of the Holy Light continent, existed a kingdom called Leus, in its northern eastern part there was the Aurelio duchy, governed by house Aurelio.

House Aurelio wasn't an ancient noble house on the contrary it was a quite recent house but it had thousands of years of history within their blood, the crest was the symbol of a golden sun

symbolizing their power abilities over fire.

Today in the great house the room was full of people of all ages be it young or elderly, the young ones were getting ready to get their abilities tested and had already formed a line in front of the altar. While the oldest ones who were relative of the formers were getting prepared to see if today was the day where they would finally brag in front of their old friends, among them seated near the altar was the patriarch and duke of house Aurelio, Geralt Aurelio. The patriarch was an old man full of

curly long grey hair and grey beard showing his old age, his golden eyes were full of wisdom, sharp like eyebrows and his lips never formed a smile. Geralt Aurelio was one of the four dukes present in the whole kingdom he was the serious type of person who instilled fear and respect even to his family members. Seated near him were his two sons, both of them were middle aged men, both of them wore the same solemn expression as their father but differently from him they had brown hair, one of them had the same long hair as their father while the second one had short hair kept really well, the latter was the first son and the royal knight of the royal guard of the king, Ceasar Aurelio, while the former was the third and last son of the Duke, Count of Terrier, Richard Aurelio.

The children in line reached until the age of twelve years old as after that in the teenage years you are mostly trained in your ability.

After a long moment of annoying and useless chatters, the patriarch stood up, in that moment silence reigned over the room, once again showing the respect they gave him, Geralt opened his mouth "Well well future warriors and lords, future generation of our mighty house, today is the day you were all waiting for, the day your destiny is decided, don't be afraid children and come forward as behind of you there's nothing, take the world and remember with FIRE AND DEATH, elder please start with the test"

an old man so old that seemed he could die at any moment started calling the names and children started the test, a simple looking black rock tested their innate affinity, talent and ability, if the rock glowed you passed, of course the intensity of the glow would determine your talent.

"Daemon Aurelio passed"

"Lucius Aurelio passed"

"Wenfort Aurelio failed"

while the elder was busy calling out names in the back of the line there was child very different from all the children presents in the great house, he had black hair and black eyes, the child was trembling showing his obvious sign of nervousness and finally it was his turn

"Dyonis come forward"

"oh it's the bastard's turn"

"of course he will fail"

noise of laughter and mocking spread through the room.

Not only was he different for his hair and eyes but he also didn't have a surname even though he had the same blood, and it was because he was a bastard, specifically Richard Aurelio's son outside of his marriage with a prostitute that soon died after giving birth.

At the call of a familiar name Richard turned his bored look only to see it was his bastard ready to embarass him in front of the whole house, even though it was his son he never really acknowledged him as it was a stain to his honor to have betrayed his wife and the mother of his children, but the patriarch decided to take him in not caring about his face and honor.
