Chapter 1 - Glass

T.W: Mentions of violence , read with caution.

"okay! i gave it a shot , i tried my best to enjoy this party and i can't do it anymore, i am leaving bye!" Julian declared, getting up from the couch, ready to leave the party that Aurelia ,after days of persuasion had finally managed to get him to attend.

"okay, alright! alright! just five more minutes and we'll leave, okay? please?" implored Aurelia like a little child, Julian couldn't refuse , in fact he never refused her of anything , no matter how difficult or non-sensical her requests were, no matter how it made him feel , he never refused, how could he? she was the only being in the entire universe that made him feel alive, the only being he loved . How could he disappoint her? So in the end he always let her have her way.

"fine, ill wait outside near the pool call me when your ready to leave." said Julian he started towards the main hall, just as he reached the backyard of the house, he heard a huge commotion coming from near the pool, apparently a fight had broken out between two girls . A short, wavy haired one, donning a red one shoulder dress and another tall, bony girl wearing a silver jumpsuit. He turned to head back inside when he saw the tall girl sucker punch the short girl into the pool and jump inside the pool to have another round of dueling , the short one now recovering from the previous blow, attacked the tall one pulling her hair with wild ferocity and for a second she looked up at the crowd that was watching them ,some trying to break the fight ,some cheering them on and one boy, one particular boy ,around her age ,who stood near the stairs that led to the pool, and he was the most ethereal creature she had ever seen and despite being in the middle of a full blown physical altercation in the pool she noticed how insanely good looking he was. He looked at both the girls in deep distaste as if he were looking at two water buffalos fighting ,he hated loud people and places , he considered them to be "classless". he decided to get back inside , find Aurelia and leave.

Julian re-entered the house( now almost empty thanks to the amusing fight in the backyard) started looking for Aurelia , she wasn't in the hall or in the den, he decided to check in one of the bedrooms upstairs, he opened the door to find Aurelia making out with a guy, Julian saw her talking to before he left to go to the pool. He immediately closed the door on impulse as if the scene before him was just an mirage of some sort and would dissolve if he didn't look at it. He almost felt physically hurt by the image of his 'Lia kissing someone else ,holding someone that's not him . unable to think coherently he abruptly sat down on the stairs, trying to calm himself , trying to see sense, it's not like she cheated on him , it's not like they were together, so it didn't make sense for it to hurt so much. Yes ,he loved her but she saw him as nothing more than a friend ,a friend she'd known all her life, a friend and a friend only, as he was trying to reason with himself , Aurelia came out of the room and sat down beside him.

"His name is Jean, I met him about a month ago and we've been dating for the past two weeks . I wanted to tell u about this today and formally introduce him to you , I am sorry you had find out like this." She apologized.

"Hey! no no ...it's alright. Does he make you happy?" he asked, painfully trying to hide the fact that he was heartbroken ,putting on a foolish smile.

"I am happy! "she said, looking at him, pretending she didn't notice his slightly tear filled-eyes, she knew, she had known forever that he loved her. she got up "let's go home" she said relieving him from the huge burden of making up reasons for his demeanor. He nodded slowly and followed her out.
