Ria woke up in the middle of the night to rustling next to her. She was going to ignore it at first, thinking Fallios was just shifting in his sleep, but then the rustling turned into clacking footsteps. Ria looked up in the dark to see Fallios creeping away from her.
[What are you doing?] She groggily asked. Fallios froze in his tracks and slowly turned his head to look at her.
[..bathroom] He quietly said. She widened her eyes in realization. They adamantly refused to go in the carriage for hours, so it was natural something like this would happen.
She silently got up and followed him, not saying a word.
Fallios glanced at the bed. Arlitos was fast asleep under the covers. They both could hear his light snoring.
He had prepared a bed for the two of them to sleep in on the floor, since Ria couldn't jump and Fallios refused to leave her to sleep on Arlitos's bed.
Ria felt thankful for Fallios. Her body's anatomy made it so she couldn't accomplish as many things as him, but he still helped her.
[He's really weird] Ria suddenly said, following Fallios's gaze.
Fallios turned his gaze to Ria. [What do you mean?] He asked, tilting his head in confusion.
Ria found his actions cute. [I mean, he's not very wary of us. There were many times where we could've escaped, but he didn't seem to be worried at all] It was very confusing to her.
Even if she herself knew she wouldn't leave, she had no idea where Arlitos's confidence that they wouldn't leave came from.
He never put them in cages, he didn't put locks on the inside of the carriage doors, he just gave them way too many ways to escape.
Fallios narrowed his eyes knowingly. [I have a feeling he's stronger than we think] Perhaps it was because Arlitos's aura felt similar to his parent's, like they had no worries.
Not because his dragon parents were stupid, but because they were strong enough not to have those types of worries. It was the difference between dragons and humans.
Yet somehow, Arlitos gave him that same feeling, when humans and dragons were supposed to be like an ant to an elephant.
Ria thought of their first meeting with Arlitos. She remembered feeling like he had killed people before.
In her last life, she didn't live in the best area, so she was very sensitive to these types of things.
She nodded. [You might be right. Let's get going now, didn't you say you had to go to the bathroom?] She reminded and pushed Fallios's tail from behind.
Fallios nodded, reminding himself of his objective and walked to a door, which he suspected leaded to the bathroom and awkwardly stood on his hind legs to open the door.
The door quietly clicked open as Fallios bit the door handle and backed up. Ria held the door open with her body as Fallios softly plopped down to the floor.
[Oh, it really is the bathroo..] Fallios trailed off as he took a closer look into the bathroom. [That's not a modern toilet that flushes] Fallios smacked his face on the wall as he remembered what kind of time period he was in.
He had completely forgotten since the power in this world was like electricity, able to power on the lights. He didn't think the advancement of this world didn't extend to toilets as well.
[..is that a chamber pot?] Ria asked with her jaw hanging open. Fallios gave her a teary look. [Please guard the door] He asked with a look which told her that he was dying inside.
Ria complied. She ignored any cursing or suggestive noises which came from the chamber pot. She was a good person, so she would absolutely pretend she heard nothing tonight.
Out of body, out of mind..
[Ok..] Fallios said as he jumped down lightly. Ria turned around and stared at the chamber pot. Once again, she fell into a dilemma.
[Fallios] Ria said with a dead voice. Fallios flinched and fearfully looked at Ria. [What is it?] He hesitantly asked.
[Fallios, I can't jump] She looked at him with her orange eyes glowing in the dark, completely devoid of life.
[…] Fallios had no reply.
Ria stared at the floor of the bathroom with a resigned look.
[Fuck it]

The next day, Arlitos woke up and got off the bed, only to step back and hold his chest with a startled look. "Oh my god, you scared me."
He ruffled his messy blond hair and squinted his eyes. His two reptiles were staring at him for some reason, following his every motion.
"Are you hungry? I'll feed you two soon." He said, looking back at the two of them as he opened the bathroom door and turned on the light.
"…"
[…]
[…] Ria looked at Fallios and silently died inside. She slowly retracted her head into her shell as Arlitos turned his head to look at them.
Arlitos put on a forced smile, the corners of his lips twitching. "I was wondering why you weren't using the padding I put in the carriage." He said in a creaking voice.
The scene in the bathroom.. was just too tragic to be described. Arlitos had no tears to shed. It was his own fault he brung no maids or servants, so it was his responsibility..
…yeah, no.
That day, a man dressed in all black carrying a large box paid a very large tip to the innkeepers.
"I'm sorry." He simply said and walked out the inn and into his carriage.
The innkeepers looked very confused as they stared at the large tip on the counter.
That day, they made a very… shocking discovery in the bathroom, realizing why the man dressed in black apologized to them.
The male innkeeper looked at his wife with tears flowing down his face. "This is why I told you to go into tailoring instead." He said, putting his hand on his wife's shoulder before walking away.
He would entrust this daunting task to her.
The male innkeeper clasped his hands together and looked up at the ceiling.
May the heavens bless our souls.

Two very guilty reincarnates curled in the corner of the carriage, looking up at Arlitos with their best puppy eyes.
Arlitos put his hand on his forehead and sighed in defeat. "I'll add a few stops to our schedule since you two don't like going inside the carriage." He resignedly said.
Ria's eyes brightened. Fallios still couldn't understand much of the language and looked at Ria in confusion. [What did he say?] He asked.
Ria looked at Fallios with her orange eyes shining bright. [We can go outside to use the bathroom now!] Ria excitedly said.
Fallios's eyes brightened just like Ria's. He went so far as to circle around Arlitos's legs in excitement. "Woah!" Arlitos laughed at Fallios's excitement.
"I guess that means you can understand me?" He asked, bending down to pet Fallios.
Unfortunately for him, Fallios didn't respond. He didn't want Arlitos to think he could understand him because in reality, Ria was the one who translated for him most of the time.
Arlitos sighed and looked out the window in defeat. His eyes suddenly brightened as he spotted something. "Stop the carriage!" He shouted.
Fallios curiously looked at Arlitos. Arlitos turned to look at the two reptiles. "Wait here and stay out of view of the door, I'll get you two some food." He said, picking up Fallios and placing him in the corner next to Ria.
Once Arlitos stepped off of the carriage, Ria looked at Fallios with a dangerous glint in her eyes.
[This is our secret now]
