The queen looked at her with disbelief, "Valron is dead, Scarlet. He died saving Chaos' life during the fight against the god Oblivion." She said at the top of her voice.
"If he's dead then can you explain what I saw? A ghost, because it looked very much alive with its glowing eyes and fire breath that it used to burn down the entire place." Scarlet queried at the top of her voice.
"Glowing eyes?" Meliodis interrupted Scarlet as he turned to his mother as if he had an idea of what was going on. "That could have been dragon fire magic. Someone must have resurrected the dragon using that kind of fire magic."
"The only dragon fire magic-user in existence is Michelle, and she wouldn't disrespect the dragons like that. Bringing them back and ruining their peace, that would be…."
Argus scoffed
"Have I said anything wrong? Argus." She felt disrespected by Argus' ill-mannered behavior
"No, your Majesty. It's just that after what you've told us that Britney Kay was executed under the orders of Michelle. Don't you think she is capable of doing something similar to that?… I don't know, like resurrecting a dragon just to help the villains. The dragon only attacked after us finding out that Linda was working for Talon." Argus said.
"Might I remind you that she is just a child and was one when the execution of Britney happened? She had no choice at that point, but to do as the elf people wanted. And, by the way, dragons are the most respected creatures in this place and we cannot try such on them." The queen doubted Argus' point.
She then stood up and said, "We will continue to talk about this tomorrow. It's already late, and Scarlet."
Scarlet faced the queen at the mention of her name, "Yes, your Majesty."
"The sword you're looking for is in the astral realm. Where the god Oblivion is found, are you sure you want to end up there?"
Scarlet was about to speak before the queen interrupted her.
"But if you are ready to go to the astral realm. Ruth has a connection with it. She can portal the four of you there, but if by any chance Oblivion or any other monstrosity tries to escape with you I won't hesitate to protect Britney's children. You Chaos lords seem to be causing trouble everywhere you go." She said then walked out of the dining room.
"Am sorry about my mother, she gets weird sometimes," Meliodis said as he also stood from his chair.
"Why does she sound like she hates us?" Scarlet was generally hurt by the queen's straightforward cruelty towards her and Argus.
"Not you guys in particular," Meliodis said.
"She hates the chaos lord who protected this world. When I don't know how time works in your world, but to us, it was seventeen years ago when the lord of chaos passed away, so many terrible followed, it's when Talon rose and during that rise is when we lost our father."
"Wait, Talon is an elf." Argus was surprised by this.
"Was an elf," Meliodis corrected Argus, "he was a royal guard to queen Michelle. He found a way to the astral realm and gained celestial magic starting a war with everyone my father was one of the many kings who chose to fight alongside Michelle and lost doing so. My mother couldn't bear with it so she chose to put the anger on the dead Chaos lord and chaos itself."
So wait are you trying to say that the sword wasn't here seventeen years ago."
"The sword appeared about three days ago. My sister sensed it the moment it touched the astral realm. " His voice sounded so calm and pleasant. "Might I ask… what do you need this sword for? I may be able to help."
Argus chuckled as if he didn't trust the prince's words. Scarlet turned to him. And he shrugged, then lifted his chin.
"Do you have something to say, Argus?" She asked him. But he simply left his chair and left the dining room, leaving Scarlet and Meliodis.
"He doesn't trust me," Meliodis said, staring at Argus as he left the room.
"He trusts no one apart from me," Scarlet said, "he's already gone through enough." she was referring to the fact that he had all his friends killed because he had chosen to share his chaos powers with them.
"It's late. We will talk about this in the morning." She continued
"Yeah, sure its already been a harsh night." he tried to understand her situation at the moment.
"Yeah. Goodnight Meliodis." She then ran out heading for her bedroom.
Scarlet was now lying on the huge king-sized bed. She could feel the soft pillow crouch under her head. She wondered what was next after they find the sword. Will she awaken? That was the only question on her mind, chaos had given her a spellbook and order had given her a key. All this must mean something at some point. But what.
The wind whispered, through the window as the room suddenly started to grow cold. This frightened her and she immediately jumped out of her bed. A shadow grew right behind her and whispered, "…..Girl….oh…I…have….waited…for your return."
The aura was just enough for her to tell that this was oblivion. A manifestation of his energy at most. He wasn't here physically. But since they were in Tecar, he could now communicate with her since Chaos was his daughter and part of her was now in Scarlet.
"I am not afraid of you oblivion. Not anymore." She clenched her fists and formed a magical red flame on her hands.
"My power…" Oblivion's voice was very deep and terrifying at the same time.
"Give me back my power. . .give me back my power…give me back my power." the shadow yelled, then attacked Scarlet with both its hands raised as if he was going to grab her. But he instead just passed through her body since he wasn't in the physical world.
"Scarlet Raymond. You will return my power, one way or another…" it instantly vanished with those being its final words.
