He gazed at her sharply without saying a single sentence for about what felt like a minute to him. He could see flashes of this woman in his head, but she was a lot younger than currently, she had mentioned something earlier about him knowing about the demons eons ago but to be honest, he had no memory of his life before becoming a servant of Order. The library had explained his past to him but the loyalty he had for Orcus was too strong and made him feel like his mind and body weren't his to command, making it hard for him to believe what she said.
That's how powerful his magic was.
"I don't wish to fight you," he said to her.
"Then why are we fighting in the first place," she responded. "But don't get me wrong, I just want freedom and revenge. And when I have those two I will live my coming centuries learning and enjoying the new world our successors have built for us. I'll be like a god out there."
