Scarlet ran up the stairs and kicked down the first door she saw and stormed right through the door.
Hayward was the first person she saw. He was standing with his two elves but this time he looked shabby and by the looks of it she felt the dark energy that was flowing from him and she immediately sensed the chaos that was flowing from him.
It was chaos but felt very different and disgusting.
He looked at her smiling like he had just seen something incredible,
"Took you long enough." he said, "I was beginning to think you hadn't received his invitation. I can feel your power has grown, by the way, I thought it would take months but just a week."
He moved towards her with his hands both locked behind his back.
Scarlet wasn't scared of him because she had access to chaos' strength at full power and combat memories that had been passed on to her.
"You know I like the confidence you in yourself," he continued, "though it has proved you are stupid enough to fight me without your friends."
"What did you do to Jordan?" she yelled at him,
"Well, Jordan is my strongest student I just needed him to shut his emotions so he could help me kill his friends and I could only do that only with this small power I borrowed from you." he released on hand from his back and showed it to her,
"Look, Scarlet." red energy began to glow from it.
Scarlet couldn't believe she was looking at chaos, "Impossible! Chaos is for only....."
"The chosen…," he interrupted taking the hand back to his hand lock," as I also thought----but with two elves that bless you with immortality. I can also play the chaos card."
Scarlet looked at the elves and summoned the sword she had used last time,
"So if I kill the elves you die," she said angrily.
She felt the skills to use the sword grow within her mind as if she was remembering. Chaos had told her about her rage but she didn't care this time around. All she cared about was to stop Hayward and save her friends.
Hayward laughed and released both his hands so that she could see them. his eyes turned red along with his hair and the same did for the elves, "You are not yet ready to kill me."
"But I am.."
An ice blizzard exploded within the room and before the confusion ended ice spikes grew from the floor heading for Hayward who jumped out of the way with the help of his elves. Scarlet scanned to see Argus jump right in front of her, he was tired and bleeding from a cut on his arm but he had the look of excitement as if all this was somehow fun to him.
"Argus!" she said,
"In the flesh," he turned to her showing the red eyes, "I am not strong enough because I don't have my book but I can still fight and can't let you fight alone."
To be clear Scarlet was looking at a fifteen-year-old boy usually, kids his age would be scared in moments like this but the look in his eyes was so sharp and confident, one couldn't believe if it was a kid doing all this.
This made her even more confident and pointed her sword at Hayward and made her eyes red, "Let's kick ass."
Hayward stared at them then released a blast of energy from his hands hitting the both of them through a wall and to the next room that was on the current floor.
The dust cleared and Scarlet had blocked the attack with her sword.
Hayward seemed impressed by that move and gave her a soft smirk, she then charged directly at him so that when she was close enough she would swing her sword aiming for his head but one elf appeared between them and blocked it by holding its tip before the swing even reached where she had targeted.
Scarlet added more strength but the elf was stronger and couldn't let go. Hayward smiled then punched Scarlet with a brutal force compelling the sword to disappear since it was only animation, not the real one.
Argus then created multiple fireballs from mid-air that he sent flying to Hayward and before he could react, he made a short knife from ice and jumped right in front of Hayward before the flames even reached him and pushed it into his gut then disappeared and the flames hit Hayward throwing him out of the building and to the street outside the building.
Hayward stood up cursing Argus as he pulled the ice blade from his gut and broke it.
The kid was too quick to catch up with.
Scarlet then jumped from the first floor and landed down. She quickly shot red lighting from her hand that Hayward blocked but it was too strong so it started to drag him a bit backward.
"Eva and Eve be….. my.... swords," he commanded struggling with the lightning.
After saying that, one of the elves immediately diverted Scarlet's lightning attack.
One was Eva with blue eyes and Eve with green but due to the link, they shared their eyes were now red.
Argus and Scarlet took one look at each other and nodded then faced the enemy once again.
Argus moved forward, looking at the elves then placed his hands on the tarmac street forcing it to shake and break off the ground using his telekinesis.
he then struggled while changing the tarmac into sharp pikes that were now in the air pointing at Hayward and the elves. Scarlet snapped her fingers and set them all on fire then waited on Argus to launch them. His nose began to bleed due to the pressure he was putting on his mind.
He then stood up and let the stone pikes fly directly for Hayward but instead of him Eva put herself in the way and froze all of the pikes except from one that hit her through the chest. Scarlet and Argus thought she was done for but she yanked it out of her chest and regenerated once it was out.
They both looked at each other disappointed by their attack.
And as they were still wondering what to do next Kendall suddenly dropped unconscious onto the ground, and from above Alex dropped one knee with a knife in her hand.
"Last time you beat me because there were civilians," she said pointing at Kendall, and when she was done.
She faced Scarlet and Argus who was surprised by her entrance, "What are you guys staring at haven't you seen a cool girl before."
She then looked at Hayward who was shocked by Kendall's defeat without saying anything more she threw her knife and it multiplied into twenty-five more and exploded each time it landed.
One landed in Hayward's arm then exploded blowing up his arm. He fell and cried out trying to hold it with the healthy hand to try and stop the bleeding.
Alex just glanced at him and said, "Your arm isn't going to regenerate because my knives can slow down regenerative tissues and magic." she aimed for Eva but she disappeared before Alex could throw.
"I am the first daughter of Leon I can even predict your moves… "
she snarled, looking around trying to sense the slight change in the air, and once she felt It, she threw her knife that landed straight into Eva's heart killing her instantly and turning her into stone.
Alex then drawled out her flaming arrow and ran towards her left firing a flaming arrow at Hayward but the remaining elf kept on blocking with its katana blade.
She then stopped and touched the lanes pulling magical energy into the flaming. It grew brighter as she pulled the flaming string between the bow and aimed for Hayward
Hayward couldn't believe that a mundane girl could have that much speed yes, she was half a lord of order but she hadn't even awakened. He knew what had to be done if he were to survive this.
He had to sacrifice Eve to get more power so he gripped her neck and strangled the life out of her till she could no longer breathe then absorbed all her power healing all his injuries and giving him a new arm and turning her to stone.
"The fire makes me strong let the chaos with me grow even more."
With those words Hayward grew bigger, his body began to crumble down and break as the bones rearranged a horn then grew from his head along with his skin turning red and teeth changing to those the size of a bear's. His eyes were bright red his clothes torn from the transformation. The weather even shifted upon his transformation and it was now windy and the sky had flashes of red lightning
"What the hell is that?" Alex shouted,
"Chaos corruption," said Argus, "his mind has broken if I had my book I could have reversed it"
"But you don't have it. Do you?"
"No, I don't."
He answered.
Hayward then roared so loud that all the building's windows shattered into small bits of glass then ran for charging at them.
Argus made ice spikes grow from the ground but the beast just broke through it like it was nothing, Scarlet summoned her rage and released flames from her hands but the monster just stopped and absorbed it then released the same spell targeting Scarlet but Alex pushed her out of the way before the flames could hit her. The monster then looked at Alex then struck her with red lighting that sent her flying into some old SUV.
"Alex!" Scarlet exclaimed, worried that she might be dead but seeing her move meant she was good.
Argus stood behind the monster now bleeding from his ears and nose.
He formed chains made of fire and used them to tie them on the monster and chained it to the ground.
Argus increased the heat of the chains burning the monster making it scream in pain from the heat.
Then knives under Alex's control stabbed themselves into its back absorbing all its magical energy. The knives were all connected to the lanes so that they don't overload making them even more effective.
Scarlet walked to the monster now lying on the ground chained then broke the horn off Its head and absorbed all of the corrupted chaos turning him back into human fighting his way out the hot chains.
"If you won't help I will just do it myself," he said then laughed loudly and the building exploded.
He used the commotion to break out the chains and activated a spell so strong that it shook the entire city and broke the gap between worlds,
"Jack!" Alex ran to the building leaving Argus and Scarlet,
"What have you done?"
Hayward grunted, "As I said before what had to be done."
Hayward had used the reality spell and Jordan as another sacrifice towards his goal and it was successful as a bright beam of light had landed from the sky and a shadow began walking from it.
Scarlet and Argus stared at the light as Hayward smiled with un-doubtful joy but what came through to his surprise put a frown on his face.
Argus felt his world move in slow motion as the thing that came
through suddenly felt like him. The sound of the metal on his boots as he walked the glow in his one good eye the raw energy.
it was him. It was Talon.
