After entering the city and asking for directions, I have finally arrived at the Adventurer's Guild. It was a tall building made out of a hard type of wood, when I came inside, many adventurers with their rambunctious talks and games stopped and looked at me. I thought this was common so I ignored it and entered while looking around.
Most people here were dressed funny like out of a cosplay, except this was real and common sense in this world. Mages, warriors, assassins, monks, archers and priests I can see them all here seated at the many tables strewn all over this space. Even two dwarves were drinking in front of the warm hearth while arguing with a male elf.
And on the far end was a bar manned by many clerks, besides it on the other hand were the famous receptionists in isekai managing paperwork and processing the quests picked off by other adventurers.
I walked to the nearest reception. A young woman who stood there acknowledged my presence and smiled sincerely. She was the receptionist, she had long light-brown hair with the ends of her hair being pinned together and braided, bright blue eyes and the signature feature of her face which was a dot near the corners of her lips. She wore the same uniform that the receptionists here wore, which consists of a red jabot, white dress shirt covered by a navy vest, a long black pencil skirt, and a three-strap black belt which had the symbol of the Libra Kingdom embedded on the middle.
"Good afternoon miss, how may the guild help you? Are you here to put up quests or perhaps register as an Adventurer? I haven't seen your face around here before so it may be the latter."
She talked a bit faster than the average person and she did it all with a smile on her face. I have to admit, she's pretty cute too and has a nice female figure. But most of all, it must be re~ally tiring to smile like that all day.
"I'm here to register as an adventurer, is that okay?"
"Yes! By all means, you're very welcome in our establishment!"
She asked me to wait for a second and she shrunk down at her desk, trying to take something. She emerged from it afterwards and placed a tablet looking device on the table. It had a blue screen with several lines decorating it.
"Then please place any of your two hands on this."
I did as she asked and placed my left hand on top of the tablet's screen. It instantly began to glow brighter and a sort of white light kept creeping forwards and backwards on my hand like it was getting scanned.
"It's a magitech device that the Magic Tower had invented recently. It allows us to evaluate an adventurer's physical and magical abilities including potential growth. You could say this is a test, if you fail this with low scores on both criteria, it will mean you won't be able to join the guild."
My spine tingled. So there was a possibility I wouldn't be able to join the guild if this thing evaluates my power as no good. After the light had diminished, receptionist girl carefully took away the device and looked at the results.
"Oh? What a surprise. For a woman, you're quite built in physical abilities, miss. This is a bit rare."
I sighed in relief at her remark.
"Does this mean I pass?"
"With flying colors, why yes. Your physical abilities are a full 100 and so is your magic, they are both at superb. You're pretty lucky to have both being so high. I expect you will become a powerful adventurer someday."
She said earnestly while looking at the tablet that scanned me.
"But please don't neglect polishing your skills just because of that, okay? I have met many adventurers who've reached their demise because of their foolish overconfidence."
Although what she said was cruel and truly out of service, she still showed a smile on her face like she didn't say anything bothering. I smiled as well, although awkwardly. What a scary person.
"Hey, hurry up will you?"
A displeased voice came from around me, I turned around and saw a young man in his 20s, he seems like a halberd user adventurer. As to not cause trouble, I simply apologized.
"Sorry about that, I'm just registering as an adventurer."
He seemed flustered when I apologized. He closed his eyes and sighed instead of the usual battles that usually occured around this time.
"Good grief, I'll go change lines. Registrations take so much time these days, they should make a separate counter. Well see ya."
And he left just like that, I guess he's a decent person who won't cause fights like those brutes I read about. I turned my head to face receptionist girl to continue our talk from earlier, it didn't seem like theres anyone in line now anyway.
"Amazing, so you're beautiful enough to not get bullied by those bothersome male adventurers."
Receptionist girl said with a voice of admiration. Was my character that cute? I do understand every character in my game were good looking though since if someone wants to make a character in the game, they would usually make it look handsome or beautiful. And I happen to be one of those people who would make my character as attractive as I can.
"Thank you for the kind compliment, can we finish the registration now? There might come other adventurers who've got more important business than conversations."
I asked politely. She looked as if she's been molested by surprise.
"Y-You're right! Please wait here for a sec-"
And she disappeared again after shrinking from her seat to get another magic tool.
"Please wait for a bit more."
She said twice every 3 seconds before finally emerging and placing a magic device that looked like it was some sort of printer in my previous world. I can tell it's pretty heavy from the loud thud it caused, receptionist girl didn't have much issue on carrying it though, are all receptionists this strong?
"Please press your thumb anywhere in this glass."
I did just as she asked and pressed my thumb against the printer's glass. She began to explain once again as it did the same scanning the magic device earlier.
"This is another invention of the Magic Tower. Please don't be startled, it will scan your thumb's precise patterns so that we can give you guild points each time you complete a quest."
"They're pretty great people, huh?"
"Well ofcourse! They're afterall the main reason magic devices exist now. And the ones responsible for magic research. Their inventions have proved incredible worth in the whole continent and their groups hold the same authorities as a king."
So this world also has devices like those in my previous life. Maybe someday it will advance so much that I may be able to use computers again.
"If in the rare chance that you lose your guild card, we can renew it for you. Though ofcourse it costs money."
I nodded to imply that I comply. She showed me a sweet smile that one would only show to their lover. It surprisingly made my heart race.
"By the way, adventurer. What's your name? I need to know what your name is first to make your Guild Card. It's okay to use an alias but it's more appropriate and recommended to use your real name."
It's not like I'm wanted or anything in this world so it's okay for me to sign down my real name. Plus, I already told the female knight earlier what my real name is so it's no use lying.
"Seven Clavery."
"Seven Clavery..."
She repeated my name while typing something using the keys on the printer, she must be writing my name for the guild card.
"By the way, can I ask what your name is as well?"
I asked at the same time a "Pluck!" sound was heard from the printer. I could tell that my guild card was finished already. That was too quick not to lie.
"Nina Bluewater, a receptionist of the Libra Kingdom's Sixth Branch Guild."
She answered while giving to me my freshly made guild card.
"I see, nice to meet you, Nina-san."
With her business smile back on, she started explaining to me the Guild's rules and regulations. They were pretty easy to understand and the same went with the adventurer rankings.
First, Adventurers who commit a crime will have their license revoked. Including the history of their rankings and quests.
Second, Adventurers should not fight each other unless it's for self defence.
Third, Adventurers can only accept quests that are at the same level as their rank. Doing these quests contrary to the warnings will not be given compensation or in other words, a reward.
Fourth, Adventurers are to report their completed quests within it's deadline. If this is not done, the quest will be deemed a failure and they will be charged with money by the client. It will also reduce their guild points which are required for rank ups.
Fifth, Adventurers who do not accept a specific number of quests for a year will have their adventurers license revoked in the following year. The quest taking expectancy is atleast 70 times a year.
That's all for the rules and regulations. I guess they're all easy and it's not like I'll do any crimes or something. Now as for the ranks;
F Ranks are the newest adventurers. Rookies, novices whatever you call it. Everyone starts at this rank, no matter how overpowered they are at the moment of registration.
E Ranks are experienced adventurers who have seen hell in and out already, they're mostly comprised of teens.
D Ranks are the most common adventurers out in the duty for years. They have the second highest numbers of people and majority are people 23 and above.
C Ranks are recognized adventurers who are known and admired by their whole city. And have just as much power to destroy it if they wanted to.
B Ranks are adventurers recognized by their country. To get to this level, the king must first acknowledge the adventurer's prowess. Their power is enough to turn down a whole nation just by themselves.
A Rank is the highest rank an adventurer can get in this world. These people hold enough power to destroy a planet if they even wanted to. For this reason, they're treated like gods.
"...Well, that's all the necessary information I will provide you, Seven-san. Welcome to the Libra Guild! I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors~!"
"Yes, thank you!"
I lowered my head and bowed to her to express my gratitude. She seemed to have been taken aback by it though, and urged me to stop.

And so, after paying Nina-san the registration fee of 1 platinum coin, I left the guild building. I realized that I actually still received a change of 70 mithras. Now that I got time, I can go through the currencies of this world.
The term for money in this place is called Mithras. A Mithra is 1 copper coin, a large coin is 10 Mithras, a Silver coin is 20 Mithras, a Large Silver coin is 50 Mithras, a Gold Coin is 100 Mithras, a Large Gold Coin is 500 Mithras, a Platinum coin is worth 1,000 Mithras, a Large Platinum coin is worth 10,000 Mithras and the last is called a Platinum Orichalcum coin which is worth 100,000 Mithras. Right now I can afford one night at an inn and one decent meal. If I don't work atleast 1 quest, I won't be able to eat dinner so I have to take atleast one quest now with a payment of no lower than 30 copper coins.
Luckily, I'm not tired nor hungry. That means I have just enough energy to take one quest for today.
I entered the entrance of the Adventurers Guild.
Nina who saw me enter had a baffled look on her face since I just exited the guild a minute ago and now I'm back.
I looked around and saw atleast 9 people flocking in front of the two quest boards that the guild has. I took the one on the right where there were the most amount of people and looked for the quests specifically for F Ranks.
There were many kinds of quests which were mostly mundane tasks from the citizens such as lifting packages or healing injuries. The other were dungeon exploration and monster subjugations. Some were job specific and the rest were generally for everyone.
I was interested in the "In need of a sturdy adventurer for my son to test his magic spells on." but ofcourse I wouldn't take something like that no matter how sturdy I can possibly be. That's why I'll take the goblin subjugation quest in a village just south of the city. It wasn't that far since it's only 5 miles away.
I reached out to take the quest, but before I raised it just enough, what I felt was not paper but flesh. I was holding someone's index finger.
I frantically looked at who's hand I touched and saw noone when I looked at my right. There's no head?!
Ah... Nevermind, when I followed where the finger came from, I had to look down and see a small elf on my right trying to reach out to the goblin subjugation quest. She couldn't reach it with her height that couldn't even reach my shoulder.
"Um... Do you want this quest?"
I asked her nicely. She looked at me with a pair of her bored, dark-green eyes and simply nodded. I instantly thought she's cute with that short blonde hair and cloak covering her whole body until I saw her pull out a super huge staff out of her pocket. It was made of dark oak wood with roots intertwining and holding a blue crystal at it's center.
It was twice her size?!
How the hell did that fit on her pocket?! Owh wait wait wait...
This is a fantasy world, stay calm. I shouldn't be surprised.
Suddenly, she pointed the tip of her staff at my head. What is she doing? She's not going to kill me, is she?
When I looked around, I saw some adventurers watching us. But why? Is this something big? Do they want to see someone's head blown off?
The next second later, the crystal inside her staff made a brief faint white glow. But nothing else happened besides that. For caution, I asked her in a trembling voice.
"Wh-What did you do to me?"
"You were speaking in a different language... I couldn't tell because of the Guild building's translation device but your lips were moving differently. I wanted to help you."
She replied calmly. But then I just realized something stupid. I didn't notice that I can understand the people in the guild! So it was the work of another magic device all along...
"S-Sorry for troubling you. And t-thanks for helping me."
"You are welcome... Ofcourse I didn't do it for free, it will only last for today. You'll have to do something for me."
I heard groans as many adventurers began to either shake their heads or mutter things I couldn't hear from my distance. Noticing that, the loli elf turned her head to face those adventurers. I was shocked when they suddenly went quiet and continued their rambunctious conversations. Nevertheless, I reluctantly asked her. This might be a beneficial event, a cliche as you call it.
"What is it?"
"You were going to take this quest, correct?"
"Yeah."
"Take me with you."
I looked at her figure and began hesitating.
"I know what you're thinking, I will destroy you if you keep belittling me."
"R-Right!"
Okay. I got into some big trouble without even doing anything. I don't want to join you yet, mom and dad.
