Chapter 27 - Aries Kingdom Arc - Chapter 26: School

It was the first day of school two days after we got the results from the entrance exams, it seems like Alric will be doing the speech for the start of school ceremony today, thankfully it seemed like I scored only 12th place of the whole school so I was far from being the speech maker unlike Alric who got first place. I expected no less from the son of the guild master who almost killed me last time. I'm curious how his exams went after seeing that his total score broke the whole school's historical record, a full 100! But my curiosity is not to the point I would ask him about it.

My pet had leveled up to Level 34 these past few days, I can say it already has atleast 80% of my own physical prowess and it also unlocked several other skills from it's skill tree. Making it dependable when it comes to stalking someone and protecting them if need be.

I was walking with my friends to school. This time, Minerva came with us since I specifically visited the library to come pick her up. I don't want her to feel betrayed if I didn't do that since she's my friend.

We're just five people walking to school normally. Well, except for Hunter Arlet I'm carrying behind my back in a piggy back ride since she said she's too sleepy to go to school. Afterall, our class starts at 6am in the morning and everyone at the mansion always sleeps at around 1 o' clock midnight and wakes up at 4:15am. We sleep late because of playing too much, which is bad for their health but not mine!

I listened to Arlet's adorable snoozing and her breath that often tickled my ears as we walked closer to school. The gate guards were stationed dutifully and the students kept flooding inside in groups. Judging by the number, atleast only half of the original amount of students from the entrance exams were officially admitted.

Like the others, we were wearing white and blue uniforms with intricate golden decorations at the chest and shoulders. There were also those that had red instead of blue which confuses me, but leaving all that aside they must be my colleagues too.

As One became very uncomfortable with being crushed by Arlet's thighs behind my back, she climbed on Arlet's head to rest there instead.

"You're really full, Seven." (Minerva)

"You said it."

Minerva chuckled with Aria while watching me carrying these two. It wasn't really heavy but I bet I look weird right now. I can't help it, I can't just wake Arlet up since this cat is so cute.

"As a boy I should be doing that but since this is yuri... You're on your own, Seven."

Said Alric with pretentious sniffing sounds. Well, I'm not really bothered since I'm more than strong enough to carry her.

"By the way, at lunchtime meet me at the rooftop, Seven. We need to talk about something private, don't bring anyone."

He requested to me, if I'm not mistaken, right now...

"Grr..."

I can feel the intense pressure of Hunter behind my back. Most precisely, I can feel her biting my hair!

"Stop biting my head!"

"A-Alric, I'll kill you if you do anything to Seven, got that!?"

She said with a trembling voice, Aria doesn't seem worried and Minerva seem to have took in One when Arlet started biting my head. Since she looked dangerous.

"Chillax, we're just going to have a conversation about something top secret."

"Top secret, you say?!"

Let me guess, she'll plan in eavesdropping won't she? But seeing Alric's confident expression, he seems to have already known what she's thinking just like I do.

"Let me tell you this, no matter what you do, you can never bring out information from me, big sis."

Alric said with a sneer, at that moment, Arlet undergone a reddish change, she became grumpy. This is an innate trait of hers when she's so curious but can't know the truth.

"Leaving that aside, let's head on inside before we get late."

"Agh! I hate you the most, Alric!"

With a horrendous laugh coming from Alric, we entered the school gates to see a crowd of students positioned at front. All were standing in front of an acacia stage where some teachers from the farthest corner sat.

"It's almost 7 o' clock. We got to hurry."

We sprinted towards the crowds, pushing our way through to get a good spot. To put my statement into the test from earlier, Alric will be the one making the speech and thankfully he wasn't late.

The person currently at the stage looked like the principal we saw the other day at the entrance exam.

"A pleasant morning students and teachers. Today is another year for the Aries Magic Academy to boast it's gifted students and otherworldly competence. From it's existence that started three millenniums ago, this sacred place has conducted many experimentations and improvements to potential mages' prowess. Now is one of those times, and as one of those promising children, our honorable top student during the entrance exam shall be the one to deliver his thoughts to everyone present. Alric Ruthenford! Please come at stage!"

The elderly man heightened his voice when he called for Alric, and the mentioned person disappeared from my side, the next thing I saw was he was already at the stage. By observing his expression, I can tell he's very composed at this moment despite being in front of a thousand students. But Arlet's expressions said otherwise, she looked like she was stopping her laughter while watching him on stage.

Then Alric finally used the sound amplification spell on himself.

"Hello, my name is Alric Ruthenford, I'm 16 years old. You can call me Al which is short for my name. My favorite food is banana, because it reminds me of my favorite color which is blue. My hobbies are playing, reading and eating. Anyway, have a good school year everyone."

That was more like a self introduction than a speech, isn't it?! And that introduction itself... Is so messed up!

"Alric is bad at making speeches or essays, especially when it's performing in front of a crowd. So he tends to just joke around in these kinds of situations."

Arlet whispered to me after seeing my stupefied expression. I also noticed that everyone in the whole school was trying to hold back themselves from laughing.

In order to avoid sinking Alric further into the darkness, the principal took over and Alric made his way back to us.

"W-Well, thank you for your very inspirational speech, Al-kun. Alright, all the students please look for your classrooms within the school building. After some assessments yesterday, we gained a vague understanding of everyone's skills and have assigned you to your respective homeroom teachers. You can find your classrooms by looking into the student name list glued at their door."

The audience instantly broke into several factions that entered the school. Meanwhile, I heard Alric shiver and mention he'll be reading mangas after this to forget the humiliation. Poor guy.

The school building was the size of my school back in the modern human world and it looked just like a normal one except for the fact that it's a school for magic.

We entered the interior and walked passed the corridors looking for our names.

Then at a classroom that was named "Section A-1" we finally found our class. But there was one problem here.

"Eh? Where is my name?"

Aria said, her voice was shaking. Along with her negative response, we noticed this too and began questioning ourselves.

"Wait, does this mean she's not in our class?"

Arlet's voice quaked, she didn't want to be separated with Aria just as much as us.

"It's here."

The one who spoke was me, originally Aria wasn't allowed to become our classmate due to our class population already reaching it's limit. So because of that, I had to change things a little, I made fate decide that she could bypass that limit.

And that worked just as well as the time I made the lycans into golden statues. Controlling fate... It was really interesting of an ability, it's like everything in this world revolves around me.

Although this time it actually costed me 2,000 points of Affection Points, it was still worth it. I can just gain more by using the girls.

"Oh, you're right Aria is our classmate. We must've overlooked it somehow."

Minerva has been getting friendly with everyone as of late, her sociable attitude seems to be a good match with Arlet's so they get along well.

And although she's quite adorable... I don't want another girl to be added in my trouble list, three are enough for my skill!

The door was slid open before I knew it, Alric opened it ahead of us and checked the classroom first.

It seemed that several other students we're already here, they must be our classmates. I can even name a few of them, one of them were one of those who beat Minerva on a one on one during the entrance exams.

Lyre Major, was it? She was only slightly above Minerva's score due to her win with that inborn magical affinity towards Sound Magic. From the looks of it, she was sitting at the far corner of the class, staring thoughtlessly through the window.

And another thing I noticed was that, the moment we entered, all the eyes of our classmates were staring right at Alric. By clarifying that the girls were the majority, I could tell they are a bit perplexed with how a "Male" like Alric became the most proficient magician in the academy.

"Oh boy, I guess I'm welcomed."

He said. There were over 26 students in the room, if we include our group which just arrived, that makes 31 pupils.

We made way and climbed to our seats.

Along the way, I caught a few words from some girls at the front seats as we passed by.

"Seven Clavery was her name, right? Isn't she cute?"

Owh no. I seriously did not expect this sort of outcome, well I did sort of notice there were some individuals taking glimpses of me. Boys or girls, this face was pretty enough to attract them. What a genius maneuver I did when I first made this character. I'm the type who likes attention afterall, my looks before were only higher than average, but despite that I never had a girl confess to me.

Leaving that aside, why am I upside down right now?

"Eh?"

"What?"

"Aughh!"

Before I noticed it, everyone in the room was hanging upside down, vines sprouted out of the room's ceiling and started grabbing our feet.

The door of the classroom which was normally closed, disappeared to thin air, and a woman with aqua blue hair came striding in. Her figure was sharp, she had nice curves and a chest size similar to mine.

"Good morning, everyone. I'm your Charms teacher and also your class advisor, Laurie Paddle. I'm a Level 2 Grandmage, it's nice to meet you all."

Her voice was gentle and her demeanor was that of a professional. This is obviously not her first time having to teach students.

"However, it's disappointing. Most of you got caught by my simple spell, if this was a battlefield, you would have already died. So why are you not breaking this spell yet?"

Everyone looked as if they choked on hard seeds, ofcourse they were feeling sort of dizzy from all those blood moving to their head.

"Well, I guess you lot are an exception."

Her attention moved to a few individuals. While majority got caught by the spell and having some trouble getting out, some students already broke out with adequate ease.

Which ofcourse included me.

Gripped tightly in my hand was a magic sword I've conjured. I poured some of my mana into it to make it sharper and harder since the vines weren't your regular vines that one could rip apart, they were more concise than a rope.

"Ah yes, the outstanding student who uses magic to make swords, Seven Clavery. The one who took first place in the entrance exams, Alric Ruthenford. The girl who can use sound magic, Lyre Major. And some students who were clever enough to use Fire Magic, Nature Magic's weakness. You're all impressive."

The students that were still hanging upside down dropped hard on the floor headfirst. It must have been painful, like alot.

"And you guys, be more careful next time. This isn't the last time I will do such a sudden test."

"Yes ma'am!"

Yep, this looks more like a bootcamp. Atleast she knows how to teach people the hard way.

The door that disappeared earlier had returned to where it was like magic, because it's probably magic. I can tell because the Charms Teacher was pointing her wand at the door.

Most of the class were intrigued in what they saw. Even I never thought such a magic exists that makes something disappear like it wasn't there.

"Now now, I know you all are excited to learn magic. But in the first day of school, we'll only do two things. First, we'll introduce ourselves, then second, we'll nominate the class officials. In the afternoon, you can go home right away."

With continued nodding and positive responses, the class nomination for choosing our officials began.
