After that incident during our picnic, everything seemed back to normal except my longing for Noel. It was still there, though his phone call recently energized me, nothing really beats a personal feel.
"Hey, gorgeous…" Ebony greeted me when we met at our company's breakroom. I acknowledged her by a hum, I was actually having a coffee break. She had her own drink and joined me by the table. "Have you read the management's announcement email…?"
"Hmm…? Not yet, I had tons of paperwork early this morning and I had to report to Mr. Walter about the upgrades that some of my accounts wanted to implement. Why? Is it important…?"
"Maybe, remember that vacant position for Operations VP and its Executive Assistant? They actually hired people and they're coming here in the afternoon."
"Okay…?" I don't really get why Ebony is excited about this news, "Why is this important?".
"They said the VP's quite a looker, he has violet eyes and a redhead!"
