*Jenny*
"S – Sister…?".
"Yeah… Look, I'm just messing with you. I just wanted to know how serious you are with my brother." She explained to which Noel subtly scolded her, "Which was completely unnecessary."
"Hmph, you'll never know. Anyway, I've got business to attend to so see ya!".
"Hey, wait! Apologize properly!". He was about to chase her but I held one hand onto his clothes.
No… Don't go… I haven't said sorry about my thoughts. Though my tears kept on flowing, I thought history had repeated itself. I'm sorry for doubting. "Don't…" I managed to whisper.
Not a second later, I felt Noel embraced me. "Shh… It's okay, it's alright… I've told you before, I'll always choose you…". I then let my emotions flow.
"SISTER!?" Ebony exclaimed as I shared with her what had happened earlier.
"SHH! Keep your voice down! You'll wake the children." I scolded her with a low voice. She instinctively covered her mouth and then calmed herself down. "This isn't some kind of coincidence. First you met his brother then his mother now you met his sister…? It's destiny I tell you!".
"You think so…?" Well, I don't really hate the idea.
"Well, duh…? What are the chances of meeting his family this quick? You're obviously destined for each other.".
Destiny, huh. Well, maybe it's true. It did start with a dream though. I'm not really hoping for a very happy ever after but if this is what's coming ahead, I'll gladly accept it.
Days went by and everything seemed to be flourishing. Noel and I have had our routined dinner dates though it seems that our very first kiss may have to wait for a while. It's funny because we always get interrupted by something. The right time has yet to come.
"Oh, shocks, I haven't decided on what to wear on the thanksgiving holiday yet." I overheard one of the staff of Wolfeland Industries' IT department say. "Not yet…? Better have a move on. It's a day away, you know…" Another staff member replied to her.
"Thanksgiving holiday…?" I asked out of curiosity.
"Hmm…? What's the matter Miss Jenny, don't you know…?" One of them said as if I asked a ridiculous question, "Oh, that's right, Miss Jenny's from another company. Geez, I always forget that.". We shared brief laughter together.
"You see, we have this company holiday called 'Thanksgiving holiday' which is held every mid-year. It's a weekend activity that the company does as a thank you to us; their employees." She explained then the other one excitedly added, "It's usually a one-day activity but HR sent out an email blast yesterday saying that our CEO decided to make it a two-day activity since the company had been doing great in the previous months and next Monday is an official holiday.".
"It's a weekend getaway!" The two then jumped around squealing like excited kids. Wow, this company really values its employees. "Most importantly, we are allowed to bring a plus-one!". Oh, you could bring someone.
"Are you joining, Miss Jenny?".
"Me…? I don't even know if I'm included in that activity. I'm not really part of Wolfeland Industries.".
"Of course, she will, it's obvious she's going to be Mr. Noel's plus-one.". That comment made me a bit flustered. Upon realizing what she just said, this staff quickly apologized, "I – I'm sorry, Miss Jenny! I didn't mean to pry on that! Please forgive me!".
"No, no, it's okay… May I ask why you think that…?" I asked curiously while they both looked at each other hesitantly but one replied to me, "Um, we notice that you often go to the COO's floor and sometimes we see you having dinner with him so we thought, you know… BUT we don't gossip about it! It's just our observation!".
Pfft. These two ladies, worrying about such things. I smiled sheepishly at them, "I appreciate you saying that, and please keep those 'observations' to yourselves, alright...? I don't want to give Noel something to stress about.".
"Yes, Ma'am!" The two saluted which made me laugh. They grew embarrassed when I said, "You girls are so cute.".
During our dinner, Noel was quite surprised that I knew about their company's Thanksgiving Holiday. "Really…? Then would you say yes if I invite you to be my plus-one…?" I smiled at his silly question.
"If It'll make you happy then why not."
"You know that nothing makes me happier than being with you." Geez, this flirt…
"Stop it, you're embarrassing me." I could feel my cheeks heating up. "A – Anyway, where is this holiday going to be?".
"Well… On the first day, we'll be at the beach then we'll go camping the next day.".
Oh, okay… Wait a minute, did he say beach…? Oh no, upon realizing that, I will have to wear something that I wasn't really comfortable in; a bathing suit.
"Is something wrong…?" Noel asked me. He may be noticed my sudden pause.
"What? No, it's nothing… It's just that… beach and camping, huh…?"
"Yeah, Kyle was the one who actually suggested those. But if you ask me, I would prefer just the camping." He then took one of my hands, "I don't really like the idea of other men staring at you. I'm quite selfish and no other men are allowed to see you in those kinds of clothes.".
He kissed my hand so tenderly I could melt in my seat, "You're mine and mine alone…" He whispered.
I could feel his possessiveness. I don't know if it's a good thing but I felt secure with his words. I gave him a kiss on his cheek and also whispered, "You're mine, too".
He was somehow surprised at what I said, well, I myself was surprised too but I felt right saying those words. He smiled then we gestured for a kiss but then again we were interrupted.
"Dear guests, would you like a bottle of champagne…?".
A waiter just popped up out of nowhere. Noel and I just looked at each other and shared a burst of heartfelt laughter together. Guess our kiss will just have to wait.
