"Oh! That's Brother Xiang!" Summer was the first to notice Wen Xiang's arrival in the dining room.
Xue Tian finally looked up and smiled after the pair of blue eyes made contact with the brown ones.
'He's wearing those contact lenses again? Such an attention seeker for real,' Wen Xiang mocked inwardly when he saw the pair of blue eyes.
Earlier in his room, he was still so drowsy to notice the blue eyes, but now that his mind was fresh once again, he could see that Xue Tian was still wearing the same contact lenses.
"I thought you would take longer to shower," Xue Tian commented as he got up from his sitting position. "Just sit down and let's have breakfast together. After that, we can drop Summie to her school."
Xue Tian placed himself on the chair that he used yesterday, but Wen Xiang still focused his eyes on Summer Xue. The girl looked so neat and cute in her uniform. She was wearing a light blue shirt covered by a dark grey skirt vest, and her brown hair was braided into two parts.
"That's her school uniform?" Wen Xiang asked a question while bringing his legs to sit next to Xue Tian.
"Mhm," Xue Tian replied. "Summie is studying in a private school, so she was wearing the uniform from that school. If she studied in a public school, then her uniform would be in red and white color just like this country's national flag. You will see many students wearing that kind of uniform later."
Wen Xiang never cared about school before. He had never studied at school, and he didn't know much about school. When he was still living in China, he often saw students wearing their uniforms, but he never paid attention to them. Only today did he pay attention to a student's uniform.
"Why isn't she studying in a public school?" Wen Xiang asked another question as he glanced at the pink-haired man.
Xue Tian didn't immediately respond and blinked confusedly instead. Blue eyes were on the little girl, and the owner sighed heavily before turning to Wen Xiang.
"You know that kids are so honest, right? If they don't like something, then they will bluntly say they don't like it. If they see someone different from them, then they will say it too. You can see that Summie is a Chinese who has different facial features than most kids in this country, so you can guess what would happen to her if she's in a public school, right?"
Xue Tian didn't directly answer his question, but Wen Xiang could understand the meaning of the words uttered by the pink-haired man.
At a glance, people would be able to tell that Summer Xue was not from the country. With her slanted eyes, fair skin, and perhaps even the shape of her nose, people could tell that she was Chinese.
Xue Tian was right. Kids tend to voice out what was on their minds, and if there was only one Chinese among the locals, then they would see the difference between them. In the end, the 'unique' kid would probably get bullied by the majority.
"I love this country, and I love the children in this country too, so I won't blame that kind of treatment. It's only natural if those children feel insecure with someone different from them. It's not their fault."
Wen Xiang could hear the pinkette speaking again, and he didn't know how to respond to the man's words. He wasn't good with people, and even if he could hear how Xue Tian sounded gloomy when he uttered the words, he didn't know how to comfort people.
In the end, he only remained silent until he could hear a chuckle coming from the pinkette.
"Your confused look is very obvious," the pinkette commented. "Let's not think about that and just eat. I bought some food for our breakfast today," he continued as his hand opened the lid of a styrofoam package in front of him.
Wen Xiang's eyes fixated on the styrofoam package, and he could see that it was food that had white color. "Is that porridge?" He questioned the pinkette after an idea came to his mind.
Xue Tian looked up and raised an eyebrow at the other man. "So, you eat porridge too? It's not a problem if we eat porridge for breakfast, right?"
Wen Xiang snorted upon hearing the question. "What's wrong with porridge?" He responded as his hands opened their own styrofoam package.
Xue Tian giggled again when he heard the cold response. "Some people in this country don't like eating porridge because porridge is like food for sick people. Some people also think that porridge is food for babies. That's why I'm worried that you wouldn't like eating porridge."
Ignoring Xue Tian's statement, Wen Xiang observed the porridge in front of him. It was indeed porridge, but aside from the porridge, he could also see chicken and also something in red color. From the look, he could guess that the red thing was made of chili.
"What kind of porridge is it?" The raven-haired man asked while looking up from the porridge.
"Ah, people here call it 'bubur ayam.' It's chicken porridge. You can see chicken there, right? And the red thing beside the chicken is called 'sambal.' It's made of chilis that were mashed until it became like that."
Wen Xiang guessed it right, and he looked down at the porridge again. "It's spicy, so it can't be the food for sick people or babies," he commented again.
Xue Tian cracked up again when he heard the cold comment. "You are right, but if you don't like eating spicy food, then you can give me the 'sambal.' I like spicy food a lot," he replied while shoving his porridge to Wen Xiang, hoping that the latter would give him the 'sambal.'
"Who said I don't like eating spicy food?" Wen Xiang asked arrogantly. "We can battle to see who's among as who can eat spicy food more."
