They were all silent as they all stared at her with all of their optics wide from what happened. Megatron recovered first from his shock. He turns his servo into a sword and swings it towards Emily. What they didn't notice was how fast her other hand turns into a sword and blocks it. Megatron looked at the human girl, who was looking at him with serious glaring optic-eye instead of the wide fearful ones. She let out a cry and pushed back against Megatron's attack and it also broke the blade of his sword as he was thrown back as he fell down on his back as the Autobots helped Optimus up.
"Impossible. How can a weak human like you have Cybertronian abilities and weapons?!" Megatron asked her with anger and rage in his red optics as she stared back unflinchingly.
"To be honest. I'm just as lost as you are, Megatron. But I won't waste any of it and will protect those I care." Megatron growls as Starscream, Knock Out and Breakdown all charge towards her but she is ready for them.
She saw how Knock Out and Breakdown were coming from either side. Breakdown attacked first as he swung his hammer down on her but she caught it. She gave him a grin before grunting and started to swing it around and around before throwing him towards a boulder. The boulder exploded into tiny pieces.
She winced but laughed slightly as Breakdown was having a hard time getting back up before feeling herself getting grabbed harshly around her waist with her arms pinned down against her sides and lifted in the air. She looked over shoulder with an unamused look in her eyes as it was Knock Out who had a smirk on his face.
"Sorry for grabbing you, mademoiselle but just like what other humans say. C'est la vie." He was about to squeeze her so they could take her with them.
But she surprised him by breaking free with a small bit of strain before starting to punch his face and delivered a hard kick to the side of his head as he was knocked back. But the dirt and the rocks also messed up his paint job and this angered him badly that Emily thought he was going to blow up a fuse.
"Why you little!" While her back was turned, Starscream aimed his missile at her before firing. She saw that coming and avoided it by jumping to the side as the missile was heading straight for Knock Out.
Knock Out saw the missile heading towards him and he's face went into shock as the only thing he could think of was 'Oh scrap'. The missile hit him which sent him flying towards Breakdown who was getting back up but was sent back down hard on the ground when Knock Out impacted his chest plate and sent both of them to the ground.
She looked up before dodging a laser shot on her way. The con that was shooting was the one who sent the missile her way. She kept dodging the laser shots as she landed a few feet from him.
"Is that all you got, con? All show and no go? Can't say that I'm impressed by your ability." This pissed off Starscream as he readied another round of laser shots as he aimed at her.
"Oh, I'll show you!" He starts to shoot her again but she rushes towards him before kicking his legs so he can fall down.
But she hit his chin before he could even hit the ground and sent him flying to where Breakdown and Knock Out is and hit Knock Out and ruined his paint job again even more.
She panted lightly before she turned and felt her body tensed slightly in fear to see Megatron getting back up. They then look at each other as Megatron has rage, anger and hatred in his red optics while she has slight fear, shock and confusion in her own.
Megatron just scoffed as he finally saw what beat Starscream, Knock Out and Break Down but he gotta admit that was impressive for a human at least.
"Do you really think a small being like you can defeat me? I have faced worse adversaries than you child. I'll take two more defeats." Megatron smirked evilly as he saw how her expression darkened slightly but was quick to hide it as she pointed towards him with her finger as she tried to look brave but on the inside, she was shaking from fear.
"Trust me, Megatron. It will only take one to defeat you after what you did to your home planet. And I'll be sure to end your tyranny!" She then rushed towards him with hatred and anger in her optic-eye and Optimus saw what she was going to do and tried to stop her.
"Emily, stop!" Optimus yelled, hoping that she would listen but it appears that she didn't.
Megatron smiled evilly as he blocked her attack as they both started to give it their all. She blocked a downward swing from his sword but she quickly blocked it with the shield she used earlier. Optimus ordered her to stop again as he was afraid that she'll lose herself if she goes any further than what is happening now. They were in a headlock as blue and light purple with indigo hue optic-eye and red optics met again before Emily started to push back against Megatron and shock them all by fully breaking his sword in half and he fell down on his knees as his mind was in shock. Just who or what is she?! How could she have Cybertronian abilities and weapons?
She panted heavily as she picked up the broken piece of his sword as she glared at him and pointed the tip of his sword towards him.
"It's over, Megatron." She glared at him but became slightly confused when he started to chuckle darkly and she didn't like it.
"Go ahead. Finish me. This is a war child, there is no place for pity things like mercy and love. If you do not end me now, one day I'll destroy Optimus Prime and you will live with the burden of your error." Emily listened to what he was saying and instantly knew that he did have a point. But a rational part of her mind told her that killing the enemy is wrong.
The Autobots and other Cons watch the standstill as Optimus was leaning against Ratchet for support since his body was a little dented.
"Emily, don't do it. Don't go that dark path. Stand down." He told her softly yet sternly. She looked up to the blue and red leader and saw worry in his blue optics.
She looked back to Megatron and was about to swing the part of the sword but she just stabbed the ground in front of him as she backed off.
"This might be a war. But that doesn't mean that I must become a killer like you, Megatron." She told him before she started to walk back to the Autobots as Miko was with Bulkhead. Arcee already requested Raf for a ground bridge as the portal opened up to get them back to their base.
She let the others go in first before her. Just as she was about to walk into the portal, she looked back as Megatron got back up with that evil look on his face.
"Hahaha... I must say... I'm quite disappointed. I was hoping that a warrior from your caliber would understand what needs to be done. Know this, child. One day, you'll regret never slashing that sword straight to my spark." She clenched her hand tightly into a fist as her light pale blue bangs covered her eyes as she had her back turned to them.
"Then so be it..." She told him before she entered the portal and disappeared through it before it closed up.
They arrived back at base as Emily saw that Miko was being talked to by Bulk and Jack while Arcee, Bumblebee and Optimus were getting fixed up by Ratchet from their fight with the Cons. They looked towards her as she walked to the elevator silently but Optimus and Jack knew that something was bothering her since she hadn't uttered a single word. She got in the elevator and it moved up to the roof of the base. She exited it and sat down as she looked up at the stars as it was an early evening.
Everyone watched her use the elevator and grew worried and concerned since she wasn't always like this. Something must be really bothering her.
"Something is bothering our young friend and I fear that Megatron's words struck her and it left her thinking." Optimus sat up as Ratchet was finished fixing their injuries for today as the medic of the group nodded in agreement.
"She might need someone to talk to." Ratchet gave a hint that Optimus should go and talk to their friend to which the leader nodded and started heading to the roof with Jack, who asked if he could join.
Optimus allowed him to come since she'll need two people to talk to since they know what she's going through.
Emily is looking at the stars in the night sky while she is hugging her knees and thinking about what happened earlier and the battle. It felt as if it was natural to fight against the cons. Then she thought back about Megatron's words as she mentally asked herself if what she did was good. Did she do the right thing by not ending Megatron's spark and ending the war for good?
This caused her to sigh softly as it really bothered her. She heard footsteps coming towards her and looked back and wasn't surprised to see Jack but was a little surprised to see Optimus there. There was a peaceful silence between the three of them before Jack broke it by going beside her and sitting down as he looked up to the stars.
"Nice night huh? Figure you'd be here." Jack asked nonchalantly with a nostalgic smile on his face.
"What are you two doing here anyway...?" She asked them quietly but they were able to hear it.
"You've been through quite an experience Emily. What's on your mind?" Optimus asked in concern as she let out a soft sigh.
"Nothing much..." She told them as she was still feeling down.
Both the human teen and leader look at each other as they know what's bothering her.
"Hey if there's one thing you should know is that me and Optimus know what it feels like." Jack told her truthfully. This caused Emily to look at both of them with confusion and surprise in her optic-eye.
"You do?" She asked them curiously as Optimus nodded to confirm her thoughts.
"Yes. On many occasions I had the chance to finish Megatron. But in my spark I knew I couldn't do it. For it would mean becoming the thing I swore to fight. No matter what." Optimus told her as she looked at him with confusion but he did make a point.
She did have a chance to end Megatron but she didn't. She then looked at Jack before asking.
"What about you, Jack?" She asked him curiously as he looked at her in surprise.
"Me? Well... it's not something I'm comfortable talking about. Miko, Arcee, Bulkhead and I got trapped in a cave, an old Decepticon mine that was abandoned and got separated. When I tried to find them I stumbled upon a Decepticon drill, which I used to try and find the others. And instead I was face to face with Megatron himself. On that day, I could've killed him, I could've destroyed him for good. But even I knew that this is what Optimus wouldn't have wanted." Jack rubs the back of his head sheepishly remembering that incident back then which happened a few months ago.
"Have you ever thought that maybe you didn't kill because you were weak?" Emily asked as she was still a bit down but was seeing their point.
"No... it takes courage to fight. But it takes a lot more not to kill." Jack told her as he looked at Optimus making her look at the Autobot leader as well who nodded to what Jack said.
"The strength from a warrior comes from his courage. But sometimes it takes a lot of courage not to fight." Optimus told her. She looked down at her feet as she repeated what Optimus and Jack told her.
And she gotta admit that they have a point. It took her a lot of courage and strength to fight the four Decepticons but she guessed that she didn't have the courage to even kill. It just didn't feel right to be hurting a robot.
"I guess you two are right. It took me a lot of courage to even fight those four. Though I gotta admit, it was really awesome." She laughed slightly as she remembered how she beat the four Cons as Optimus couldn't help but chuckled warmly while Jack looked at the two in confusion.
"What do you mean?" Jack looked at her for answers as she laughed and stood up.
"I'll tell you all about it later inside, Jack. Right after I give Miko a talk about going after the Autobots in a dangerous situation." She smiled at him and Optimus and went to the elevator back inside.
Optimus and Jack watch her leave before he looks up to the red and blue Autobot.
"Think she will be okay, Optimus? I mean, she looked so down earlier." Jack wanted to make sure that she was.
Optimus was silent for a moment as he couldn't forget how troubled and lost their friend looked earlier. He would do anything just to see her smile.
"It takes a lot of courage and heart to fight like an Autobot and not to think like a Decepticon." Optimus explained to Jack the true meaning about having courage as Emily and Miko made amends inside.
