Audrey woke up amidst the pungent smell of disinfectant.
Clive was sitting to the side, intently watching the little girl receiving her IV drip. When he saw her eyelids flutter, Clive hastened to stand up, "Audrey."
"Clive."
The little girl's vision was blurry, and she could only distinguish Clive by his voice. Then, she closed her eyes again, and when she reopened them, her vision was much clearer.
She looked around, the walls were white, the bed was white, and there was the IV tube. She asked, "Is this the hospital?"
"Yes."
Not long after Audrey fell asleep in the guardhouse, the rescue team arrived. Their helicopter had spotted the light of a fire from the air, so they were able to find them quickly. Then, they transported the two of them to the ski resort's hospital. Clive was alright, but the little girl had remained unconscious the whole time. Even taking the helicopter ride hadn't woken her.
Clive touched the little girl's forehead, "You're finally feeling better."
