Inspector Robertson's temper might have been fierce, but it fizzled out in front of Gem Atkinson as he asked, "Why the opposition?"
Gem Atkinson stood up, walked directly to the screen, and without stating the reasons for his opposition, he pointed to a road displayed on the screen and said, "I suggest we split our forces into two routes. One route is the International Airport Road escorted by a thousand people as Inspector Robertson just mentioned. The other is this private airport road."
Inspector Robertson understood and said, "You mean to set up a decoy Rae Blackwood?"
"Exactly. Jack is cunning and deceitful, inherently suspicious. By offering him two routes, we make him choose. This way, we can disperse his forces."
No matter how powerful Jack's reach was, this wasn't his territory, and regardless of the number of men he brought, splitting his forces into two would inevitably reduce his strength. Thereby, Jack would most likely bet on just one of the routes.
