He had just crawled out of his room when he felt someone grab his collar, and then he was lifted into the air, flailing around like a turtle. Turning his head, he saw Gem Atkinson.
Beas smiled at Gem Atkinson.
That smile was like wildflowers blossoming all over the ground, with flattery, pleasantry, and deliberate cuteness, especially the two little dimples on his cheeks that became even more apparent when he smiled.
Beas looked just like him, a spitting image of him. Only this smile, these dimples, were so much like his Viola.
A tenderness welled up in Gem Atkinson's heart, and he embraced the flailing little guy, gently patting his bottom and said, "Did you sneak into your sister's room to cause trouble again?"
Beas seemed to understand, vigorously shaking his little head.
