Fred Andrews had guilt and self-reproach in his eyes as he said, "I'm not a good brother."
Although Peter Andrews had been missing for many years, he was not stupid and had not touched his share of the dividends, so Fred had never thought something had happened to him. He always assumed that Peter's playful nature got the better of him and he had forgotten to return home.
Unexpectedly, someone had tampered with Peter's memory and abandoned him in Africa, where he was then sold into slavery. If not for a fortuitous encounter with the young lady, Fred might have lost his brother to Africa forever.
"Have you ever considered what exactly happened with Peter's memory?" Gem Atkinson asked.
"I've thought about it, and judging by the number of years Peter was left in Africa, it coincides with the year the young lady was framed and kidnapped by Coral Ruby, so it should be related to her or, perhaps, the person who was secretly helping Coral Ruby."
