It was well known that Rae Blackwood had been controlled by Jack with drugs, and seeing her now so emaciated, Benjy was certain of it. He glanced at Forsythia Brown, then at Peter Andrews, and asked Liz, "Are they the two slaves who rescued you?"
Slaves?
Forsythia's mouth twitched fiercely, and she dared not lift her head even more.
Touching his head in confusion, Peter said, "How did you know?"
Peter's counter-question implicitly confirmed the fact that it was indeed them who had rescued her.
Observing Peter's simple and honest appearance, as well as Forsythia's cautiousness in refraining from making eye contact, Benjy grew even more convinced that they were undoubtedly slaves. The woman carried by Peter must surely be Rae Blackwood. So, Benjy retracted the Desert Eagle and stretched out his hand, saying, "I'm sorry, Mrs. Blackwood, for the offense I've just caused." He had heard about Rae on the plane and respected her from the bottom of his heart.
