First off, Audrey had attacked her own son, and secondly, Audrey was Forsythia's daughter, so Jane didn't really like Audrey. But with all these men present today, she had to feign affection regardless of her true feelings. So, she handed the bow tie in her hand to Audrey with a smile and said, "Here, be careful." Then, she added in a joking manner, "It's quite expensive."
"Expensive?"
"It's three million dollars."
Audrey puckered her lips into an 'O', "Three million?"
Assuming that Audrey was astounded by the price of the bow tie, Jane mentioned proudly, "What are you planning to buy for your mom?"
Being accustomed to having ten million dollars in her hand, Audrey deemed three million insignificant. The more Audrey looked at the bow tie, the more she felt that she was at a disadvantage. She felt frustrated thinking that if she had arrived a bit earlier, she might have been able to buy it.
