Temporary detention center.
The people detained here were caught throughout the day. They were either standing in groups of three against the wall or squatting in groups of five chatting. When they saw Gem and Forsythia brought in by the police officers, their eyes lit up, coveting their outfits.
"They look familiar."
"Who cares if they're familiar? Look at that man's watch, it's worth at least this much." The person talking made a 'seven' gesture, which meant a million-dollar price.
"That woman isn't bad either. We won't be lonely tonight."
The people detained here were petty criminals who wouldn't amount to much. Even if they had occasionally seen photos of Gem and Forsythia in the paper, they wouldn't associate them with the people detained in real life. They only knew they could take advantage of the situation tonight.
After entering the detention center, Gem chose a spot against the wall, took off his coat and laid it on the floor, saying, "Sit for a while."
