Although Forsythia didn't know how the Hancock brothers and Jane Meaden became siblings, she recognized Ned Mamet's little uncle. It was Peter Hancock's cousin, Bartley Hancock.
Bartley's father had once been the governor of River State. Bartley was Old Governor Hancock's late-life child, so he was immensely favored by him and was known as Mr. Hancock in the area.
