Heh, fortunately, the safety house uses a relatively outdated electric water heater, so hot water wouldn't be available immediately. Thus, the occasional drift of cold water kept Forsythia awake.
She had to wait a little longer, gathering her strength to her fingertips. Below her chest, between the second and third ribs, was a point that, when pressed, could cause death or knock someone unconscious.
Of course, Yigol Foster had no idea what Forsythia was thinking. He was only thinking about possessing her from now on, feeling proud and accomplished. However, his pride and accomplishment were short-lived as he suddenly felt a dull pain in his chest and collapsed on the ground before realizing what happened.
Forsythia leaned weakly against the wall, gasping for breath.
When she felt her body regain some strength, she furiously kicked Joyfield: "Despicable!"
With her strength, she could not move Joyfield, but if she didn't move him, she couldn't soak in cold water to help her recover from the effects of the drugged alcohol.
It seemed that the symptoms were about to start again.
She turned the faucet to cold water, trying to stay conscious, and wondered what to do?
At this moment, the Yigol Foster on the ground unexpectedly grunted.
Damn it!
Although she hit Joyfield's fatal point, the effect of the drugs weakened her strength, and it seemed that he would wake up in about 15 minutes.
Forsythia took out her cell phone, but it was wet and couldn't be used for now.
But even if it wasn't wet, who could she call for help?
Gem Atkinson? Heh, he'd be with his fiancee enjoying her fragrance. Besides, why would you ask for his help?
Mockingly smiling, she put the cell phone back in her pocket and zipped it up.
Where could she temporarily avoid this catastrophe?
Definitely not the basement, not to mention the number of people in there. Even if they were drunk, she couldn't just go to the basement casually.
So, there's only one way: escape!
That's her only shot.
She looked out the window.
Right now, it's all or nothing.
The plan was to jump out the window onto the icy pond below, at least to stay alert for a while longer.
Without hesitation, she headed towards the window.
Any other day, she could easily jump onto the windowsill, but today, she basically had to crawl to reach it. Then, she jumped out without any hesitation.
A distinct splashing sound rang out in the night air.
The Early Autumn night was cold, and the icy water of the pond made her shiver.
Forsythia soaked in the pond for a while, and her consciousness returned. Unsteadily, she watched the moon in the sky: she must do it. Once Yigol Foster woke up, he would definitely search for her. Even if he did not wake up, there were many people coming and going during the night in the Urban Villages. It was not safe.
So, to remain calm, she had to find a safe place to hide, somewhere with a pond or at least where she could soak in cold water, far away from the eyes of others.
If she soaked for two hours, the effects of the drugged alcohol would weaken significantly.
Rapidly thinking about her options, her pretty peach blossom eyes started searching everywhere. Then, her eyes lit up, and she quickly climbed out of the pond without any hesitation.
Fortunately, Yigol Foster loved to show off, so there were motorcycles and sports cars available. And because Yigol Foster and his crew were here, they were still there for the taking.
Forsythia didn't hesitate to straddle a motorcycle, start it, and speed away.
As Forsythia disappeared from sight, a black Lykan car pulled up nearby. The man inside the car looked towards the safety house after glancing at the direction where the sound of the motorcycle disappeared, and his brows furrowed.
That night, Gem went to Enchanting and didn't see Forsythia, which made him think that his warning during the day had worked and she had probably quit her job at Enchanting.
However, when he returned to his apartment, he felt a bit unsettled. He thought about the slap he gave Forsythia that day and couldn't stay put. He drove to the Urban Villages just to see her.
As soon as he arrived, he noticed several motorcycles and luxury cars parked in front of her courtyard. He remembered that Yigol Foster's vehicle was a Pagani.
Was Yigol Foster here?
Could it be a party?
Gem sat in the car for a while, noticing that there was no movement inside the house.
Wherever Yigol Foster went, his gang caused chaos, so it would not be this quiet.
Something was wrong!
Gem quickly got out of the car and walked towards the safety house.
He pushed the courtyard door: it wouldn't budge.
Gem looked around, stepped back a couple of steps, charged forward and jumped over the wall with a swift leap.
Standing on the courtyard wall, he scanned the inside: it was eerily quiet.
Moreover, the main door was wide open, revealing several people lying on the floor in disarray.
His heart shuddered, and he quickly jumped off the wall, crossed the courtyard, and ran into the main house.
Inside the house, the messy table and dozens of bottles on the floor showed that there was indeed a party.
However, Yigol Foster and Forsythia were not among the several people lying on the floor.
Gem looked to the second floor.
There was no movement on the second floor.
His heart clenched, he quickly ran upstairs. In the process, he kicked Black Peter, who was lying on the staircase. Black Peter, drunk and disoriented, yelled in pain before flipping over and falling asleep again.
Immediately afterward, a small bottle rolled out from Black Peter's embrace.
