Chereads / My Contracted Husband / Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Mr. Mc Bright was in his house and not knowing what to think or do after the straightforward conversation that he has with his nurse, everything seemed bleak to him and it was just as if he was not existing without his daughter.

The reason ay to make it up to her, he decided to call her for a dinner at the mansion the next day where he was going to table his sincere apologies to her and ask for her forgiveness on the same occasion.

Convincing himself that it was the best thing to do, there was a voice inside his head asking him not to because he was not supposed to adjust his daughter's judgment to not have a man but Mr. Mc Bright was bent on making things right after remembering the phrase that nanny Anna had told him which was,

"It is better to have one than to have nothing at all." Those words had sunk right deep into his heart and mind and realizing how mean and selfish he had been to his only child, his eyes became watery again just at the thought of his wife looking down from heaven at the sight of what was going on in their lives.

"Yes, calling her is the best thing to do now, I have to write my wrongs before I lose my only daughter as well," he muttered. Letting out a deep sigh while snapping out from his thoughts, and dialing his daughter's number. Dailing her number for a while without any response, he felt even worse thinking that she was never going to forgive him or want anything to do with him any longer.

He was scared due to the harsh words they had exchanged and did not want it to extend any further, he was set on giving her a try and listening more to her point of view as well as what could be making her not want to be with any man. Nanny Anna was very considerate and was able to see the hurt that he was going through And with a concerned tone, she asked him not to worry because, Daniella was not a child to hold grudges against anyone, let alone her father but if she continuously did not pick up her calls, then it will be a call for concern given the fact that she left the house in a very devastating manner.

He agreed with her on that and with a sad look on his face, he had decided to keep on calling her till she finally picks it up but Anna who is his nurse told him not to bother about that as she was going to do that while he gets some rest. MrMc Bright was not feeling foo well and the issue which was at hand was only going to make him feel terrible she feared that he could get into another crisis so she had to do the needful for that not to happen while hoping that Daniella was saved wherever she was.

The breeze was already getting too harsh and Daniella was beginning to shiver like a cat who had been soaked in water Having pneumonia as well as a premature child, she was not er the cold for too long as it could take her to enter into a very delicate situation but there she was, doing the contrary and inhaling all the cold that nature had to offer her that night.

From their little conversation, Hendrick had to get to the conclusion that she was not a bad person, and if he was being fair, he will say that she was the nicest rich young adult he has ever come into contact with. Her words were so nicely placed and her sense of maturity was topnotch, yet she was feeling so down and had not told him what the matter was yet.

"How can I not give her for me, like will it be a bad thing to dream of going far with someone like her?" Hendrick asked himself not having the right answers but as far as he could see, she was a cool person though being just terribly by life.

"Why did he have to save me? Why will such a handsome man like him be a pickpocket with all the cute features I see in him as well as his unique athletic body shape which can turn any lady crazy just by being with him," Daniella too whispered not wanting to seem obvious.

It was the first time she was saying something like that about any man.

All he had in his mind was the fact that she has asked him to marry her without any concrete justification for that and still in shock, he wondered why such a young woman like her will ask a man to marry her. So many things were going on in his head but the important was why she will want to kill herself so he had to gather the courage to ask her that.

"Can I ask you a question?" he let out grinding his teeth inside his mouth and his question drawing her attention, have her a cold feeling about what it was he could want to ask her and a voice informing her that she will never know what he wants to say if she doesn't accept to listen to his question.

"Yes, you can," she responded after deliberating on it. Hendrick made sure that his query, was going to be straight to the point but not in a disrespectful kind of way so that he doesn't spoil what he had made an effort to arrange for some time now.

Was he going to be able to take away the burden that Daniella was feeling inside? Or is his topic, just going to ruin everything?

Waiting to hear what kind of question he had for her, she wanted more time but Hendrick did not dare to ask her that so he kept on sitting quietly. Turning her head to look at him, she could see the tension which had clouded faher ce giving him a somewhat scared look, and Daniella thinking that he was about to ask her about the proposal she had made, her lips gave way and the question came out of her mouth and took Hendrick unaware.
