"Stop talking about me as if I am not here," Cyrene said while glaring at her parents. This was one of the reasons why she was closer with her grandmother than them.
Just as she spoke, there was a long silence. Jumanah and Lucas, at that moment, have a guilty expressions on their faces. It was like they were completely aware of what was wrong in that situation.
Zarola signed and then seriously said, "We should concentrate on the thing at hand. The board will be here in no time." She was looking at everyone as if she did not want them to waste any more time. It was like Zarola challenging them to refute her words.
She then sternly added, "I want all of us to focus on the now. We focus on what we can control. What we can fix and what we can avoid."
Jumanah and Lucas nodded. Cyrene hummed in agreement. For her, the sooner they were done talking, the sooner she could get out.
