"Thank you very much for your help," Darrell said. He was sincerely happy that they could talk for more than half an hour without quarreling. It was a sad reality, but he could not do anything about it as the damage had already been done.
With that in mind, Darrell was about to dismiss him, but Basil had other plans.
"Son, we need to talk," Basil suddenly said to his son when he saw that Darrell was so reluctant to talk to him further.
"About what, father?" he asked, restraining his emotions. In fact, he was dreading what his father was about to tell him.
He prayed that his father was not going to talk about him letting the beta be attacked when he was protecting a huntress. Darrell hated that his father found a way to make everything about himself.
