Chapter 142 - Chapter 139

8 Hours after the successful defeat of the Imperial forces and capture of the Death Star, Alexander's fleet had arrived in the Coruscant system where an Imperial Fleet was already awaiting them. In 8 hours the Empire had managed to gather a fleet of 1200 ships to invade the Terran Ascendency.

About 200 of those ships were from the ones that retreated with Emperor Palpatine. While the rest were scattered fleets recalled to form a new fleet above Coruscant.

Grand Admiral Josef Grunger had retreated to his respective sectors instead of heading towards Coruscant. He was ordered by Emperor Palpatine to regroup at Coruscant but he ignored that order.

It was the same for Grand Admiral Nial Declann who saw the fate of the Galactic Empire. And he didn't want to be apart of that fate so he retreated to another part of the Empire until the battle was over.

Once the Emperor was pronounced dead he would start his plans to create his own Empire.

Above Coruscant Emperor Palpatine had summoned even more Grand Admirals to join him in this battle.

As such Grand Admirals; Thrawn, Octavian Grant, Osvald Teshik, and Miltin Takel were summoned to Coruscant to aid in it's defense.

Thrawn who was summoned was already aware of the situation and was also well informed on the power of the Terran Ascendency. His contacts in the unknown regions have informed him about the subjugation of all the Nations in the unknown regions.

Thrawn was also aware of his position as Grand Admiral. While he had no real loyalty to the Emperor since his original idea of forming an Alliance with the Empire was because it was beneficial for his people.

However such an Alliance was no longer beneficial to his people. With the way the Empire is going now it would be better to align himself with the Terran Ascendency instead.

So his plan was to participate in the battle but to keep his ship alive so that he could surrender and eventually get captured by the Terran fleet and seek an audience with the Emperor.

That way he can avoid being caught by the Emperor for his plan to defect. Some people considered the Galactic Empire to be the New Order for the Galaxy but Thrawn has always watched the Terran Ascendency and considered them the more powerful Empire.

Emperor Palpatine had already retreated back to his Palace on Coruscant and left the battle to the Grand Admirals to handle. While before he didn't have faith in the Imperial fleet since they were outnumbered, now he figured that the Imperial fleet could win since they would have the superior numbers.

And that was about to be tested as 4 hours after Palpatine arrived at Coruscant the Terran Fleet had exited Hyperspace and immediately opened fire on the Imperial fleet.

The Grand Admirals all coordinated with one another and returned fire on the Terran Fleet.

The space battle above Coruscant raged on, with blaster fire lighting up the darkness of the void. The Terran Fleet, led by Emperor Alexander himself aboard his flagship fought fiercely against the Imperial forces.

As the battle unfolded, Grand Admiral Thrawn carefully maneuvered his ship through the chaos, biding his time. His plan to defect to the Terran Ascendancy was risky, but he knew it was the right choice for the greater good. Thrawn's tactical genius had always set him apart from his peers, and now was no different. He would play his part in this battle while secretly laying the groundwork for his eventual surrender.

As the battle went on it was clear that the Imperial forces were outmatched despite their superior numbers. The Terran Rail guns chewed through the Imperial ships until the battle neared the end.

The Imperial fleet was not able to retreat this time since they would have to go past the Terran fleet and that was just impossible.

After a grueling two hours of battle the Imperial fleet was defeated with Grand Admiral Thrawn surrendering with the last remaining ships of his fleet. While Grand Admirals Octavian Grant, Osvald Teshik, and Miltin Takel were killed in battle by the Terran forces.

Thrawn's ship was boarded and the crew was taken prisoner. Thrawn had requested to meet with the Emperor but was denied an audience immediately and would have to wait.

Meanwhile Alexander who was on the bridge of his ship was looking at the damage report if the fleet.

IN the previous battle against the Death Star Imperial fleet the Terran fleet had lost 20 ships to the Imperial forces, while during the battle for Coruscant a total of 50 ships were lost.

Though the loss of those individuals was tragic, it was in service of a greater cause and their courage and selflessness would be honored and remembered.

Standing on the bridge Alexander was preparing for the invasion with Ahsoka and Nera joining him in the battle.

"Master do you think we will encounter those Inquisitors on Coruscant" Asked Nera as she eager to fight them.

"They'll probably show up, but it's hard to say for sure since the inquisitors are based somewhere else. I wouldn't put it past Palpatine to call them in after he bolted from the Death Star," Alexander clarified.

"But even if they don't come, there's still the Imperial Guard to deal with, which could certainly make things interesting for you two," Alexander added.

The two of them nodded looking forward to the battle ahead. In the Hanger as Alexander walked to his shuttle he saw the hundreds of transports getting ready to leave the Hanger and launch the invasion of Coruscant.

The Invasion fleet carrying Millions of soldiers had already arrived behind the Terran fleet and the transports were awaiting for the signal.

And Alexander didn't want to keep them waiting so once he boarded his shuttle he initiated the invasion.

"All stations, initiate the invasion of Coruscant, The Capital of Imperial Influence!" His command echoed through the ship as the invasion fleet sprang into action. The transports launched one by one, forming a steady stream towards the planet below. As Alexander's shuttle descended towards the surface of Coruscant, he could see the sprawling cityscape beneath him, a maze of towering buildings and flashing lights.

The initial approach was uneventful, but as they descended closer to the surface, turbolaser fire erupted from the Imperial defenses. The sky lit up with explosions as the Terran ships fought to establish a foothold on the planet. Alexander felt the turbulence rocking his shuttle as they navigated through the crossfire.

Ahsoka and Nera were by his side, their expressions focused and determined. They knew that the real battle was just beginning as they prepared to face the Imperial forces on the ground. The shuttle touched down in a designated landing zone, and Alexander led his troops out onto the streets of Coruscant.

The city was in chaos, with blaster fire and explosions echoing through the streets. Imperial forces were entrenched at key locations, putting up fierce resistance against the invading Terran troops. But Alexander's forces pressed forward, pushing deeper into enemy territory with each step.

As they advanced, they encountered pockets of fierce opposition from Imperial soldiers and droids. Ahsoka and Nera fought alongside Alexander, their lightsabers cutting through enemy ranks with precision and skill. The tide of battle slowly turned in favor of the Terran forces as they gained ground inch by inch.

Through sheer determination and teamwork, they fought their way towards the heart of Imperial power on Coruscant.
