Jayce returned to the log cabin with the golden chalice. He entered the cabin and saw Cyril lying on a bed, looking pale and weak. He also saw Vance, Cyril's son, sitting next to him, holding his hand. They both looked up when they heard Jayce's footsteps.
"Jayce, you're back!" Vance exclaimed, his eyes lighting up. "Did you find it? Did you find the golden chalice?"
Jayce nodded and smiled. He opened his interdimensional storage and took out the chalice. He held it in his hand and showed it to them. "I did," he said. "I found the golden chalice. Here it is."
Cyril gasped and reached out his hand. He touched the chalice and felt its warmth and power. He looked at Jayce with gratitude and admiration. "You… you are amazing, Jayce," he said. "You have done what I could not. You have fulfilled my lifelong dream. You have brought me the golden chalice. Thank you. Thank you so much."
Jayce shook his head. "No, thank you, Cyril," he said. "You are the one who gave me the map and the clues. I owe you everything."
Cyril smiled and wiped a tear from his eye. He then asked, "Can we test it? Can we see if it works?"
Jayce nodded and said, "Of course. Let's test it. Let's see if it can cure you."
He took the chalice and poured some water into it. He watched as the water started to bubble and glow, turning into a golden liquid. He handed the chalice to Cyril and said, "Here, drink this. It should heal you."
Cyril took the chalice and drank some of the liquid. He felt a surge of energy and vitality coursing through his veins. He felt his pain and weakness fading away. He felt his body becoming lighter and stronger. He felt like a new man. He jumped out of the bed and ran around the room, laughing and cheering. He even jumped on the table and did a somersault, something he hadn't done in years. He looked at Jayce and Vance and said, "It works! It works! I'm cured! I'm cured!"
Vance and Jayce joined him in his celebration. They hugged and congratulated him. They were overjoyed to see him healthy and happy. They thanked the gods for their miracle.
Cyril then asked, "Can I keep it? Can I keep the golden chalice?"
Jayce shook his head and said, "I'm sorry, but I need it more. I need it to save my family. I have to take it to them."
Cyril nodded and said, "I understand, Jayce. I know how much you love your family. I know how much they need you. I won't be selfish. I won't keep the golden chalice. But can I have some of the liquid? Can I fill some containers with it? Maybe it can help other people who are suffering."
Jayce agreed and said, "Of course. You can have some of the liquid. You can fill as many containers as you want. Maybe it can help other people who are suffering. Maybe it can make the world a better place."
They filled some containers with the liquid from the chalice and sealed them. They gave some to Jayce and kept some for themselves. They hoped that the liquid would work as well as the chalice.
They bid Jayce farewell and wished him good luck. They thanked him again for his kindness and courage. They told him to be careful and to come back soon. They said goodbye and watched him leave.
As Jayce prepared to leave, Riven stopped him outside. Despite the fact that her eyes were hidden beneath a piece of cloth due to being born blind, Jayce recognized that she was worried.
Jayce turned to Riven, concerned by her demeanor, and asked, "What's wrong?" Riven took a deep breath and confessed, "Ekko has betrayed us to the Duke." She explained, "I sensed his treachery while we were at the Amniel family lake house."
Jayce's emotions surged, and his voice filled with a mix of anger and disappointment as he confronted Riven. He asked her directly, "Your sense of timing is bad. Why didn't you tell this earlier?! We left our friends, Poppy, my mother, and my newborn sister behind, and you knew about Ekko's betrayal. Why didn't you tell me?"
Riven met Jayce's gaze and responded calmly, "I understand your anger, but please listen. I telepathically revealed Ekko's betrayal to Headmaster Lucian, and he has already taken appropriate action. Our friends, including your mother and sister, are in safe hands. Right now, our priority is to proceed to the Stormcloak family villa and save your father."
Jayce agreed, picked her up and took flight.
When he got there, he didn't see imperial soldiers outside probably because they didn't want to catch the sickness too or the people inside were too far gone to be guarding either way he cautiously entered.
Most of the Stormcloak family especially the older ones were dead. Jayce's father, Aldric, was weak and could barely move.
Aldric motioned for Jayce to come closer and asked, "What happened to your mother?" Jayce's expression softened as he replied, "Don't worry, she and the baby are both fine. It's a girl."
He smiled.
Jayce then took out a pitcher of golden water from his interdimensional storage and gave it to them one by one starting with his father and it worked. They were cured.
