Alice's POV:
I sat in the car, resting my face against the cold glass of the back window. My face had gotten hot from all the drinking and I was as well as a tomato that I knew for a fact without even looking in the mirror. I peeked up from beneath my lashes as I enjoyed the city view. counting the street; lights as we drove by them, a thing I always did when drunk, I would count anything a skill I had discovered came to light when I got drunk. it was probably occupational since I was a secretary after all and organising had been a major part of my career. Counting the lights as if they were sheep reminded me of the stars that had stuck on the ceiling of my life which I would count at night as I drifted off to sleep if I found it hard to do so. I dozed off counting the lights not realizing we had arrived at Thea. Theo's sister's apartment. A girl rushed over to her practically tackling her into a hug, I assumed it was her girlfriend since there were a few articles that spoke about her sexuality.
"You can come in the front if you wish to do so" he offered.
I simply shook my head as I found it comfortable if I had sprawled against the back seat allowing myself more room catching up on sleep during the ride home.
"Back here has more room"
"No problem, would you like a blanket"
"if you had one?"
"Lift the middle seat it should open the back compartment I have a few blankets in there"
"Why do you have blankets and clear cars? Do you often have girls who get cold and you give them a blanket?"
"No, I have them in case I sleep in my car and I spread them on hotel beds. I'm a bit of a germaphobe."
I didn't know what compelled me to make such statements I was annoyed or irritated at the fact they had blankets in his car when I asked and would, have been more satisfied if he had said no.
Those questions plagued my mind as I wrapped a blanket around me and laid down on the seat using my hands as a pillow to support my head. I just dozed off again on the whole ride home
Theo's POV:
I glanced back at her occasionally, slowly driving on the streets in order not to disturb her slumber. I had been doing so the whole time right here as I had noticed that she had placed her head on the glass mirror and I didn't want a swift turn or a stop to disturb her serenity. I noticed the bag under her eyes during dinner.
I drove slowly down the road, my sister completely in the know about the situation simply smiled as she took out her phone to text her girlfriend that it will take her a bit longer to get home without a doubt, she was giving her gossip about Alice with Louis.
As soon as we dropped Thea off, I offered her the front seat but she refused to ask for a blanket, deciding to remain in the back but there was some irritation in your voice after I said I had a blanket. The reason for this is........
I had no idea as all men do they have no idea what they did wrong. I drove slower home in order for her to get more sleep as she looked like she needed it. Alcohol relaxed her. What could possibly have been bothering her for the past week, probably had to do with me since she was trying so hard to avoid me the entire week. We had arrived and I checked the time it takes an hour to get here from Thea's house and that means that she had gotten an hour nap, I can't wake her and I was a bit reluctant so I sat there for a half an hour in my car. It was soon time to wake her up but the idea of driving in the neighbourhood just once or twice seemed like a better option than waking her up.
I parked in front of her house after my 4th driver around the block and I decided it was time to wake her up as I had work in the morning and had to get some rest. I did this by calling my name.
"Alice, Alice it's time to wake up"
I constantly repeated it gently as she opened her eyes and peered up at me blinking as she thought she was in a dream until she realised that it wasn't as she felt the warmth from a hand on her shoulder. She sat up and did a quick stretch well whatever she could do in the back of my car. She was about to throw the blanket and I told her to keep it as it was probably chilly outside walking to her door. There were no protests or she was just too tired to. She wrapped herself in a blanket, exited my car and stepped to the front door. I sat there until she finally managed to find the right key. Entered the house and I heard I'll click and saw the green light above the door from the security system. I waited until I saw the lamp in her room come on, she threw down her bag and discarded her clothes not caring where they went. She climbed into the bed and covered under her blanket she laid there for a few minutes before jumping back up and going over to her closet to change into something warmer. She soon walked back out and I saw her win a black onesie with cat ears on top, the top ensemble was quite baggy on her but she made it work it looked quite good actually and she returned back under her blanket after staring up at her room for a few more minutes I drove off to my house to get my fair share of well-needed rest.
Alice's POV:
I was awoken by the sun peering through the window and with this all the memories of events yesterday popped back into my head and I remembered what I had said to Theo but I had no idea why I said that both about the blanket and girls in his car stop myself why was I so affected by a mere blanket, he just told me where it was God. I'm so stupid maybe with alcohol it was definitely the alcohol. I checked today's date and realised that it was my day off. I reached for my phone, and checked the time, 6:30. I stared out the window and admired the sunrise that had rudely interrupted my sleep on my day off for a few minutes before I told Alexa to close the curtains.
I picked up my notepad to see what I had planned for today's bulletin.
go grocery shopping
Clean house
Pick up a few stationary
and review a few documents
I nodded to myself as I knew I would finish all these things before 6 pm and then I would be able to binge all of my favourite cartoons for the rest of the day.
Theo's POV:
I drove by Alice's house and looked up to see her still curled up in a ball on her bed until she shot up and checked the time on her phone, she sighed and proceeded to sit there, silently for a while and I assumed it was her day off as she was normally up and about getting ready at these times. I wondered why she sat there until my eyes followed hers to the sunrise that probably woke, her up until she moved her lips and the curtains began to close. With my daily dose of Alice already in I continued on my commute to work. I had changed cars as I had finished all this fuel from driving a round and convincing myself to just give her five more minutes of sleep, she needed just five more minutes.
