"Where are you taking me?" I kept on asking, but in vain. Becky wasn't even listening to me. Her grip on my hand was extraordinarily tight. It was difficult for me to make her let go of my hand.
We passed several alleyways until it finally opened into a huge building. It was a really old piece of architecture and looked almost as ancient as fossils. it had cracks like a spider's web and the windows were so dusty that they almost looked black. I wondered if it had any ghost spirits, just like it is usually the case in horror movies.
We stopped in front of the building and Becky let go of my hand.
"What the hell is wrong with you? Why are we here?" I was furious, but to be honest, a part to me felt excited. Ever since I came here, things had been so monotonous and boring that I wanted to disappear into nothingness. Each day was predictable and nothing new ever happened. I had infinite questions, but no direction to seek their answers. Once in a while, I could use something new, no matter how absurd.
Still, I maintained my furious composition and didn't show my excitement. Becky turned towards me and the moment our eyes met, I felt a shiver run down my spine. Suddenly, I realized how stupid was I to have let her drag me all the way here. I realized what a moron I was to think that this was exciting. Every emotion in me evaporated in fraction of seconds and only shock and fear remained.
The pupil of her eyes turned crimson-violet and her body radiated a strange bluish aura. Her form began to change. Her body was changing itself... transforming into something hideous. I could hear the sound of her muscles changing and her bones reforming. Her flesh became visible and that was the extent to which my brain could process.
I didn't wait to see her in her full glory. I was too afraid and shocked for that. Whatever piece of shit I saw just now, was enough to traumatize me for a lifetime. I ran with all the strength I had. I couldn't remember the path from where I came, but it didn't matter as long as I could escape this peculiar situation. Finding my way back alive seemed easier than finding it back from the underworld after being dead.
Somewhere far behind me, I could hear a howl and knew that it is what I was running from. Hearing what it sounded like, I really had no desire to witness her monstrous beauty.
I turned right and kept running. I could see no place to hide. Suddenly with the last turn I took, I found myself at a dead end. The howling behind me was getting closer and louder. I tried climbing and jumping through the wall, but it was of no use.
With my last jump, I fell, was thrown left and hit the side of the wall. I heard the wall shiver and the world turned upside down...no...it was me who did a somersault. I was in a dark place and the only source of light was the place where I was standing few seconds back. The piece of the wall that pushed me inside closed just as quickly as it had opened, leaving the place pitch black.
I couldn't see anything. Just taking a step forth seemed like a mammoth task.
"Hello, anyone here?" I called out helplessly. Nothing. I walked ahead hesitantly and stepped on something. The thing I stepped on started to glow and all the lights turned on serially, one after the other, right from where I was standing to the ceiling.
'Thuck, Thuck, Thuck'
Everything became visible. It was a huge underground bunker. It was well equipped with all sorts of scientific equipment. The machines were unlike anything I had ever seen before. It all seemed straight out a science fiction movie. To my left, some meters away, was a wall and on it, with huge letters, was painted- 'The Erbium Facility'.
While I was stunned seeing all this other-worldly stuff, suddenly the a container that was kept in the middle, illuminated and whatever was inside it became visible.
I walked towards the container as if I had been hypnotized. I stopped just few feet away from it and stared at it dumbfoundedly.
'It's impossible!'
I couldn't quiet believe what I was seeing. Inside the container, immersed in some sort of fluid, was a person...a boy.
