Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

Present-day

"Samara!" a voice screeched in her ear as she jerked up from her position. She did not have much sleep last night. Her father was ill and she had to take care of him. She was going to take him to the hospital today. His illness started with little body pains but now he couldn't eat and she feared something terrible.

"Samara, I will not condone this behavior. If you do not pay attention I will have to send you to the principal's office" her teacher said as she turned her attention back to the class.

"Pssssstttttttt" hearing the subtle voice of her ex-roommate, Lauren, she turned to her side. "What's wrong?" her ex-roommate asked worried about her friend's health. She had moved out of campus about a month ago and their friendship was detoriating as they hardly saw each other.

"Nothing, nothing "Samara replied with a smile or at least what she thought looked like a smile. Lauren knew something was wrong. Her friend was beautiful and she had most of the college boys at her feet but what she saw now was an ugly zombie. A dead shell of what used to be her friend with her bubbly personality. They were not best friends but they cared about each other so much you could consider them sisters.

Lauren knows Samara hates being pushed. There's only one thing that she hates more than that and that is pickles. Yeah, pickles. Samara has had a difficult past. They first met in junior year of high school. They both had terrible mothers who had abandoned them for greener pastures and that was one of the reasons why they just clicked. Lauren's father was a representative of the council and her mother had tried reconnecting with them after she realized her mistake but of course, her father was not so forgiving. He practically threw her out of the house and she has never shown her face again.

Sighing, Lauren continued jotting but all the while thinking of her friend. She was one of the only true friends she had. The rest just wanted to become friends with her because of her father's newfound wealth. They may not paint each other nails, go shopping or talk about anything but they had a deep connection. She was so tempted to ask her father to stalk Samara but she decided not to. Samara had leaned on her dad for so long, she forgot how to trust or ask for help.

" Okay, class next week we shall be having the annual field trip to New York. I expect your forms returned before then" Samara's head snapped up at this. Her dad was sick she couldn't go. But this was her chance to meet some of the best doctors in the country. No, she had to stay she couldn't go.

Picking up her bag, she proceeded to leave when Lauren held her arm. "Hey, wanna grab dinner later tonight." Sighing, Samara looked into the eyes of her friend, more of a sister actually.

" I wish I could Lauren but I have work this night, maybe during the weekend" she quickly added. she couldn't hurt her friend's feelings she knew she really cared about her.

"Ok, I will call"Samara nodded at this and scurried out of the class to her workplace on the other side of campus. A local cafe.

_____________

" Transient ischemic attack" the doctor replied confirming her worst fears.

"b...b...but we should...d not be w..w...worried right doctor? i..i...I mean it's just a partial stroke right it will fade"

The doctor took a deep breath turning to the beautiful student in from of him. "We can't be too certain if this is life-threatening but we are certain that this is past the mild stage."

She adjusted in her seat trying to stop the tears that were threatening to fall. Her mother was a cry baby and it looks like she inherited that trait. "W...w..what do we d..d.o now?"

She was afraid of his answer she was already knee-deep in depts since her father stopped working a few months back.

"We start with a few medications but we have to put him under our watch, for now, don't worry you won't have to pay for the room. It's free" The doctor lied but she saw how her eyes widened when he explained that her father had to stay at the hospital and relaxed when he

mentioned the room was free. It was surely going to come out of his paycheck but he was not worried besides he would have something better to compensate for his loss.

And as her little hips swayed innocently, he felt his jeans become a bit tighter. His old mischievous eyes already undressing her petite body.

"Thank you, doctor" Samara called lightly as she closed the door, oblivious to the old man's mischievous smile. "Oh don't worry, soon you would thank me when I have you under me" he smiled.
