Mrs Nicole Thompson was fuming as she paced back and forth in the room. Her son was getting married to a commoner, a broken, poor and helpless college commoner. He will be mocked by her friends and even her enemies. It was bad enough that her good for nothing daughter had married a middle class tech manager, but her son was her sole pride. She had the prettiest and loveliest brides picked out for him to choose from. She had watched as the girl struggled to use the fork and knife at the table and unknownily used the wrong spoon for dessert. It would be a disaster, she was going to be known as the mother-in-law of such classless specimen.
She knew there was nothing to do of course, only the bravest could go against Charles Thompson and he secretly frightened her. She decided the only thing she could do was make the girl's life miserable until she ran to Charles to beg for a divorce or better still run away and end up in a ditch somewhere, dead.
