"What are you thinking?"
He turned to Nanren and muttered "nothing," putting the fork to his mouth. After chewing and swallowing his food, he spoke.
"Nanren, I got a message from Evan today. Something important is about to be discussed. How about you come with me?"
Nanren hesitated for a moment, then declaring her happiness at being shared with him, whispered, "Yes, of course."
Then there was silence at the table for a while.
But a strange atmosphere continued to prevail. Even for Yun, that was clear and obvious.
Finally, Nanren mustered up some courage to face her with determination. Even though Yun couldn't understand what was going on, he sensed that something strange might happen, so he looked at her, waiting for it to begin.
Nanren tensed even more as he saw those eyes on him, but finally he parted his lips and paused for a moment, gasping. Soon after, she spoke in a whisper, in a high-pitched, weak, trembling voice that was almost boiling in between.
"I like you"
Yun didn't hesitate.
This is unexpected.
Moreover, watching the other person fidgeting, oscillating between hope and despair, gave rise to vaguely strange feelings.
From the very beginning, somehow, maybe it was Nanren's inability to hide his feelings, maybe it was because the emotions were too intense and confusing for him to handle, whatever the reason, it was ultimately obvious that his inability to hide it was so obvious that Yun somehow understood.
No, maybe Nanren secretly didn't want to hide it anymore?
Whatever it was, in the end both parties knew it but ignored it. Nanren pretended she didn't know, and Yun didn't even bring up the subject.
But now...
Knowing it is a different phenomenon, formalizing it is a very different thing.
This is a sign of getting serious, even without consequences.
And...
Yun raised his gaze and looked at him seriously.
In short, it is the first time such words have come out of his mouth and his first confession.
"I..."
Nanren was flushed, "I know it's weird but…"
He didn't know how to express himself. He was alarmed and his face was getting redder and redder.
"That's it...that's it, but... I...I..."
His heart was throbbing and he could really hear his pulse beating in his ears. The more he spoke, the more dizzy he became, and at last even a few words that were barely spoken, he stuttered.
While Nanren was in this state, what he wondered the most was how other people were able to shout it out like that. A pompous and glamorous confession, in public!
Even now he tried to suppress the urge to run away, or to bury his face in his hands, yet he could not escape the fate of bowing his head in shame.
Now, in the face of this waning silence, his regret grew exponentially.
Like this...
As soon as he felt that he was being judged in heavy silence, when he did not dare to raise his head, he missed the faint smile of the person in front of him, albeit vaguely.
Yun did not immediately reply.
It was useless to answer anyway.
Nanren did not expect an answer from him. His only wish was to be able to express these feelings, which he was trying to kill but attacked by getting stronger. Kind of relax.
Otherwise, he would either kneel or suffocate in the face of these increasingly uncontrollable feelings.
Nanren made his choice.
Yun, on the other hand, was stunned by this sudden confession, but did not feel anything special. After a moment of silence, he finally spoke, feeling the need to ask.
"Are you gay?"
Yun secretly admitted that he is not suitable for such romantic situations. Still, he thought that something should be brought to reality, even if it was to disrupt this environment.
"I…" Nanren stared blankly, as if trying to comprehend the question being asked.
His innocent expression caused an itch feeling in Yun for no reason. Strange feeling.
"I do not know ?"
He finally said it.
Yun "..."
This was an unexpected answer.
Nanren too was alarmed, feeling that her answer was a little loose, though to be honest she didn't know how to respond.
The other person was the one he dared to open his heart to, and he did not dare to smear these pure feelings with lies.
Finally, he answered his sentence to collect it a little more.
"I don't know. So this is my first time I don't know…" Nanren thought to himself how he had screwed up so much as he weakly admitted with the back of his hand, covering his face.
Yun had to admit that he was really surprised at the job now. Even for a moment the sight was seductive for him, with the fluffy black hair standing fluffy in front of him, the pure white skin staining red, the yellow eyes filled with a strange mist.
So this is his...
This was her first love. It was the first time he had experienced these feelings. Foreign feelings struck him suddenly, he was helpless, as if caught off guard by his enemy.
They say first love is destined to be platonic. It leaves behind bitter memories mixed with pain, but sweet and addictive. It's like bitter. Bitter and hard chocolate.
And with that thought in mind, Yun reluctantly acted. The warm but unfamiliar current in his chest overpowered the emotion and he asked in his usual expression.
"Can't you give a clear answer?"
The face hidden between the thin white fingers, the fingers moved slightly, and the bright timid eyes emerged.
"I like you"
And again he confessed.
He didn't know what it was. That was all he could say, even in this situation where his brain circuits were short-circuited.
Man or woman does not know. He just felt that he liked her and that was all he could say as he never chased after those feelings. He was an ignorant person, unaware of even his feelings. But to be honest, she knew she just wanted to like him, that her eyes were betraying her and following her wherever she went. Her appearance was immaculate and pure, spotless beauty, and she felt that even the thought of liking her could disgustly tarnish her.
Maybe he was under the influence of crumbs of low self-esteem that still lingered inside. He had never expected a positive response to these feelings.
He just didn't want to contain these pathetic feelings any longer.
Unpretentious, perhaps the simplest confession possible. But even that was enough to drive her tiny heart crazy from start to finish. She felt her breath stop and her lungs suffocated for a while, and she could barely breathe.
After all, as she gathered some courage and looked at Yun, she felt that Yun was looking at her with the weirdest look possible.
Actually it was true. Yun felt awkward and felt the itching feeling inside him grow even more. It was exactly the kind of feeling that would make him ignore the whole situation, want to grab the other person and rub their fluffy hair, and even squeeze their cheeks, bully him as if he wanted to make his shy gaze and white skin turn red even more.
He knew this feeling. Back then, when she was the older sister and her younger siblings stood before her with a pure and innocent expression, it was that feeling that made her want to make them cry and bully them for their cute looks. This feeling could not be fully explained in any other way.
But to these confused feelings was added another unfamiliar feeling that even though Yun didn't know what it was, he could only guess that he was affected by Nanren's feelings.
"Well..."
He suppressed the urge and stood up. He started to lift the table. Nanren, on the other hand, sat with a blank expression, stunned.
After he regained consciousness, perhaps it was because he was not satisfied with the result, Nanren wanted to protest and say something, but he did not know how to say the words. He stood up like a cat on his tail, pressed his lips together, and stood still.
Yun paused as he turned his head, seeing his tearful expression.
The result was that Nanren was awkwardly consoled by Yun.
