MAYA
I killed as many that ran towards me. I never imagined I could fight when I was not at the age of shifting yet.
"Maya!, behind you… "
A wolf ran towards me trying to jump on me, I panicked a little but whatever force that took over me made me lung at the wolf. We both fell to the ground, growled, bringing forth foamy fangs.
I punched its jaw with full force, and it fell off me.
I quickly stood up, regaining my balance as he prepared himself for another attack.
Furthermore, I felt dizzy, and my body started going weak, but I can't stop now, the war wolves increased in their numbers.
Just how many soldiers were recruited by Lana. That evil witch will pay for what she did to our pack!.
Meanwhile, Luna Eva together with her pack warriors fought tirelessly with the enemies, while Lana stood casting a spell to weaken Blood Rose warriors.
When Eva saw Lana casting a weakening spell on her soldiers, she Lunged at Lana.
"It's too late for you Eva, no matter what you do, Blood Rose will be mine, !"
"Then watch as I kill you in front of everyone present and offer you as a peace offering to the moon goddess".
Lana laughed viciously at her statement.
Just as Eva was about attacking Lana.
She felt pains surging through her body and I wolf cried out making her shift back into her human form, the pains spread at every corner of her body, then she knew her mate Alpha Rogers was dead.
Her wolf became feral as she devoured anything that came her way.
When Lana saw this she also knew Rogers was no more, she felt bad because there was a time in her life when she loved him, but there was nothing she could have done, he chose this part himself she thought.
Eva killed every wolf that came in contact with her as she aimed for Lana. When Lana saw her approaching, she immediately summoned her private war wolves that was on stand by.
"Do it now!". Lana yelled, and immediately they attacked her on every side. After a long battle Eva became weak and as such they pierced her sides with metal fully coated with wolfs bane, but she never gave up, she still fought with all her might.
The witch saw that Eva will never back down, so she took out a weapon she always carried with her and stabbed Eva in the chest.
Maya suddenly felt numb as tears ran down her cheeks, she did not understand why she was crying.
"Something must be wrong"
Maya searched for her Mom only to find Lana stabbing her Mom in the chest.
"No…." Maya screamed.
"I will kill every one of you, if you doubt you can try me and I will give you death!."
Maya ran towards her Mom but was attacked by wolves, she tried to fight them, but she suddenly became weak, her eye never left her mom who was on the ground writhing in pain.
"Maya, you have got some guts coming here. This is even better, it will be easier to finish off mother and daughter."
"Don't worry, you all will be united in the afterlife."
Lana laughed wickedly.
"Don't you dare lay a finger on my daughter, Lana!."
She still struggled, holding on to Lana's leg, preventing her from taking a step towards her daughter.
"Ha!, you think you can fight now?, maybe you still don't know the power of wolfs bane.
Too bad Eva you should not have become the Luna, it's your fault Blood Rose is ruined now."
"Guards!, take that cursed daughter of the Alpha away, she needs to pay for the terrible fate she has brought upon us!".
" Lana, don't you dare test me, do not touch her!".
"You should be glad I'm about to do what you and Rogers refused doing seventeen years ago, it's all your fault.
Take her away and if she refuses burn her out with the liquid!".
Eva tried to get up, but she was too weak as she bled profusely. She still held unto Lana,, but Lana got too irritated by the Luna's relentlessness, and so stabbed her on the back.
"No...!" Maya screamed as she ran to her mother's side, but the soldiers won't let her off as they tried to drag her off her mom's side, but she struggled with them.
"Please don't leave me mom, I promise I will be good. I will take back Blood Rose I promise,, but please don't leave me…." Maya cried bitterly.
"Don't cry, my child, you should be strong. Take Lucas with you and leave the pack, you are not safe here anymore."
I want you to go out there, get stronger and reclaim our pack.
The goddess will guide you, your dad and I will watch over you even in death. You are the hope of our world. Save yourself Maya… And with that, Luna Eva died in Maya's arms.
"No.....!, please don't leave me Mom, .....". Lucas ran to his Mom holding her hands, they both cried bitterly.
"It's really unfortunate the Luna is dead, she was a great leader.
Lana said faking to be sad.
Maya and Lucas were locked up in the pack's dungeon.
All those who refused to acknowledge the witch as their leader were all killed, why those who accepted her were spared.
In the dungeon, Maya and Lucas both cried for the loss of their parents and pack. Maya thought about how devoted her parents were to the pack that they barely had time to look after their children but, they still ended up dying because of the people they protected and loved.
How funny it was that all those pack members could not believe in their Alpha and Luna.
"This is all your fault, Maya. It's your fault our parents are dead now, if only they agreed to get rid of you, I'm sure they would still be alive now."
"Are you being serious now Lucas?, you still blame me for our parents' death after everything that's happened?".
Let me ask you then, where were you when we were being attacked?, you see yourself as the rightful Alpha, not so?, so why did you not show up when Mom was fighting for the pack?!."
Maya could no longer bear these accusations, specially when it was coming from her brother.
"You know how disappointed I was for you when you were so busy discussing with Ryan, specially when you should have been guarding the pack together with the warriors.
Maybe, just maybe, if you did that then I would have been really convinced that you Lucas, deserved to lead the pack."
"Our real enemy is out there Lucas, that's who we should be fighting right now, not ourselves!".
Night came in the dungeon, but no one gave them food nor water.
Maya wasn't concerned with all that as she continued crying about the loss of her parents.
Maya woke up the next morning only to find herself being tied up to a tree outside the pack house. She looked around her and found Lana, her pack warriors and the rest of the pack members staring at her like she was a sinner.
"What are you trying to do Lana?, why did you tie me up in front of the crowd, haven't you done enough yet!?".
"Everyone, see for yourselves the reason Blood Rose is ruined.
We should have her killed to save us from the impending doom."
Some pack members agreed, why others kept quiet with sadness in their eyes.
Tania looked so devastated, she wished she could help Maya now, but she was pinned to the ground by two warriors when they noticed she took a knife with her so she could untie Maya's rope.
"You think killing me will bring peace to the pack?
Are you all blind that you can't see what this witch is all about?."
It's crystal clear that she's coveting the position of being the pack's leader, and you all let her do so.
All you ever did was hate me all my life and I never for once complained, I let you treat me as trash for a prophecy you don't even know about, and now you want to kill me?, are you not scared of the goddess's wrath!?."
"Of course we are all scared, that's why you have to be gotten rid of, before you kill us all!." Lana said.
She made the guards torture Maya with weapons, they hit her skin until her flesh came off with each stroke. Maya screamed out loud in pains at the torture she was being made to go through.
Her whole body was left bloodied with injuries. Those torturing her used wolfs bane on every tool they used in torturing her.
Lana made sure Maya undergo such torture, so she could weaken her before her death. She didn't want her death to be quick in front of the pack's members, so they won't see her as a cruel witch.
She thought the best thing to do was to torture Maya so even if she managed to survive, she won't be having a wolf since the wolfs bane had destroyed it's dwelling.
An hour after Maya underwent a gruesome torture, she was released and carried outside the pack's boundary as was instructed by the Witch Lana, so she could die outside naturally than inside the pack.
Maya could not move in any way, her wounds won't heal, and she was dying by the second.
She wished anybody would be kind enough to rescue her, but no one came, and she died, hours later.
