Drey widened his eyes as he saw the Emperor get engulfed in the mouth of the Nemean Lion in one bite, and for a moment, he wondered if Magus would be able to survive this.
The lion was several times more massive than the average one and even more intelligent. Instead of taking this chance to take off for good, he wasted those few seconds thinking about the Emperor's possible survival—especially as the lion had raised its head, swallowing Magus whole and setting its eyes on Drey. It roared aggressively at Drey, who knew better than to get down to challenge the fable.
Now Drey turned around, ready to take off for good, when he heard the sound of the lion again, and he stopped. What made him stop was that the Nemean Lion was not growling out of aggression but rather out of pain and discomfort.
