Over half the audience had their attention involuntarily drawn to Kong Xiang as he tossed in his first piece of metal into his furnace.
Almost immediately, the reaction of the audience changed.
This was because the metal piece he just put into the furnace was divine pyrolite, known for its temperature-specific refinement conditions.
"Isn't that divine pyrolite?" A voice sounded among the audience in disbelief. It turned out to be the person accused of being in cahoots with the purple headband guy. "That metal is usually saved for last, right? I attended the previous assessments, and that was the norm."
"You're right. I don't know metallurgy, but even I know you're not supposed to start out with divine pyrolite."
"Right, all the other candidates haven't started refining theirs yet, saving it for last, as they should!"
