Chapter 36 - Zero Firmament Sect.

Bravery Peak. Zero Firmament Sect.

Bravery Peak was one of the core areas of the Zero Firmament Sect.It was aptly named as a weakhearted person would not feel at ease being there. The Zero Firmament Sect was a Sect that mostly cultivated the lightning element, so the sect was established in a place prone to thunderstorms and filled with the lightning element, but the Bravery Peak was prioritized and augmented to become one of the best places in the Sect to practice lightning Arts.

While one could achieve multiple times the effect while cultivating in this area, it was also very dangerous. The peak was atop a mountain, and at the bottom of the mountain, one would see looming clouds and concentrated lightning bolts striking thunderously at random spots on top of the peak. Any random thunderbolt was enough to exterminate a Cyclic Core cultivator, body, soul and spirit. In fact, there were even Lightning Gathering Formations inscribed all over the peak to attract lightning bolts, hence the concentration of the lightning element was extremely high. Of course, the lightning was not at all gentle, and was very difficult to absorb too. Only the strongest had the qualifications to cultivate in this place.

Although this region was reserved for the higher ups of the Sect (elders and Sect Leaders), the Saints and Saintesses were granted access to cultivate in one of the cultivation caves on the peak one day for each month. Kong Xiang was currently in one of those peaks, using his quota of the month. Violent lightning bolts bombarded his body, but he did not as much as twitch. He breathed in a rhythmic manner while lightning energy ran amok within his body. Opening his eyes, he sighed in a frustrated tone.

"Having reached Cyclic Core already, all the Cultivation Arts I obtained from Miss Xialong are now useless" The three Arts were created by Cyclic Core experts, and Kong Xiang's insane Cultivation speed allowed him to reach that realm without even seriously practising these arts. Just now, Kong Xiang had been trying to utilize the Herculean Thunder Arts to absorb the lightning energy, only to find out it was of little use.

"I guess I still have a few hours," Kong Xiang continued absorbing the qi, although his absorption efficiency was still frustratingly slow. He unleashed his Nature Domain which increasing the absorption efficiency to the level of a normal Saint.

Just like that, time passed and his token phone with a flashing light, waking him from his meditative state."I guess I still have a few hours," Kong Xiang carefully made his way down the mountain, bumping into one of the elders.

"Greetings, Elder Yi" Kong Xiang bowed. Elder Yi had been one of the elders that accompanied the Sect Leader on the subspace exploration. He gave a warm smile as he went on, his mind flashing back to a half a year back when the exploration happened. Kong Xiang had long assimilated with the sect since then, becoming a popular member of the sect.

After reaching the bottom, Kong Xiang made his way to his Chambers, a secluded area with high lightning energy concentration. There were seven more such Chambers spaced out around him too, belonging to the other Saints and Saintesses.

"I guess my biggest problem now is my lack of a proper cultivation Art" Kong Xiang had visited the Library and practised so many techniques from there, greatly improving his mastery of lighting arts, but he lacked a central lightning based art to replace the Herculean Thunder Art. He had abandoned the other two arts for now, given the fact that he was in a lightning attributed environment right now.

The Sect possessed Cyclic Core Cultivation Manuals, but he refused to practice them knowing they were reserved for true successors who would stay behind in the Sect and inherit sect duties. He was a successor in name, not in intentions.

His identity token flashed with a message, "Saint Mo Nian requests an audience"

Sighing again, he deactivated his wards, letting his visitor in.
