Jake and Lance found themselves on a carrier back to the Kandhar base. Both of them chose to remain silent about the vent that had transpired recently. Jake's actions were completely unregulated and out of bounds. The terrible mess left back there was a sight Lance would remember all his life.
"Was it necessary?" Lance asked.
"You tell me. I gave you adequate time to come get me, but you were ten steps slow. I had some pent-up frustration. I need to take it out someway. So this is the way I chose to do so." Jake said.
"Did you feel nothing while killing all those people?" Lance asked.
"None if they were good people anyway. If they were, they wouldn't be present there." Jake said.
"We were present there," Lance said.
"And we are not good people," Jake said in a calm tone.
Lance had nothing to reply with. They were too late in responding even though Jake had informed him and the military beforehand about the situation.
