"Roasted duck leg. It's very delicious. Uncle Qin brushed it with two layers of honey."
Song Xiaoyu stood up angrily and ran into the house.
Song Wei picked up the duck leg and took a bite. "He's angrier this time."
She could not handle it.
Qin Xiao: "Master, what should we do now?"
"I'll get Qiao Shishi to come over."
Qiao Shishi was Song Wei's best friend and Song Xiaoyu's godmother. She lived in Yanjing and had a good relationship with Song Xiaoyu.
She was always on call. Two hours later, she brought a big bag of food and stuff to play with and went into the house to coax the child.
When she came out, Qin Xiao could not help but give her a thumbs-up. "You're so reliable!"
The next morning, Song Xiaoyu carried his backpack and went to school dejectedly. When he was about to reach school, he saw the bodyguard that worked for his father.
Lin Yi beckoned him over and patted his little head, then he smiled and revealed the news to him. "Kid, Master Lou is staying at Shuiyun Courtyard on the east side. Huanyu Group has a development project for a resort there, so we need to stay here for a few days. If you need anything, you can come and find us anytime."
Song Xiaoyu was a little dispirited at first, but his eyes instantly lit up. "Really?"
"Adults don't lie to children."
Song Xiaoyu hugged Lin Yi's thigh. "Thank you, uncle. So, does Daddy like me very much?"
Lin Yi nodded with a smile.
In actuality, Lou Junchen felt that this little guy did look a bit like him. He wanted to figure out what was going on, and since there was a project here, he decided to stay.
Song Xiaoyu was overjoyed. He later hopped off to school.
At the entrance of the Song family's residence, another luxurious black Mercedes-Benz was parked. When Qiao Shishi saw the people who got out of the car, she was furious.
Qin Xiao was puzzled. "Who are they?"
Qiao Shishi answered coldly, "That old lady is Song Wei's mom, whereas the one wearing a white dress is Song Wei's twin sister. Song Wei's parents filed for divorce when she was five years old because she didn't speak to them since she was born. Her parents thought that there was something wrong with her brain, and neither of them wanted her. They were afraid that having a child with a physical problem would delay them from starting a new family."
Back then, Song Wei's parents had sneaked away. She was only five years old when she woke up to an empty house. Her parents were gone, and so was her elder sister. No one wanted her.
She held the doll in her arms and ran out of the house barefooted. When she saw that the people on the street were all unfamiliar faces, she was so scared that she cried out loud.
Qin Xiao, who was chopping wood with an ax, heard what Qiao Shishi said. He exerted force, and the wood was cut into two halves. He gnashed his teeth and remarked, "They don't deserve to be parents!"
When Song Wei came out of the house, she saw her noble mom and elder sister, who was a famous celebrity. They were dressed in bright and beautiful clothes, and even their hair was exquisite. They did not fit in with her small farmhouse.
Song Ning looked at her surroundings with disdain. If it was not for the fact that someone found out that she had a younger sister, how could she lower herself to this godforsaken place? It was all her mom's fault. Her mom made her put on a show of sisterly love, hence she had no choice but to come.
She held the arm of her mom, Zhao Wanyu. Her chin was slightly raised, and her sense of superiority was clearly visible.
At this moment, a basin of dirty water was splashed at their feet. Song Ning was so frightened that she took a step back. Pointing at Qiao Shishi, she questioned, "Is this how you treat your guests?"
Although there was anger on her face, she still remembered to maintain her elegance at all times.
Qiao Shishi placed her hands on her hips. "I'm sorry. I was blind and couldn't see the two of you. Our small place can not accommodate noble people like you. The two of you should go back to where you came from!"
Zhao Wanyu glanced at her youngest daughter, Song Wei. As a woman, Song Wei did not care about her appearance. She wore torn slippers and jeans, and she did not look like a woman at all.
Upon seeing this, Zhao Wanyu could not help but feel glad that she did not bring Song Wei into the Shen family back then. How could she have gained a firm foothold in the Shen family with a burden, let alone become a noble lady of the upper-class society of Yanjing?
It would have been very difficult for Song Wei to become noble.
Song Ning looked at Qiao Shishi scornfully. "Who are you? We're here to look for Song Wei. Who are you to talk to us?"
Song Wei placed her bowl and chopsticks on the table, then she shielded Qiao Shishi behind her. She looked at Song Ning coldly and said, "She's in charge here."
Song Ning gritted her teeth in anger. 'Well done. You're really a traitor. Not only are you not siding with your elder sister, but you're also siding with an outsider!'
Zhao Wanyu tried to smooth things over. "Lil' Wei, how have you been? I haven't seen you in so many years. I've been thinking about you ever since we separated. Do you miss me and your elder sister too?"
"I never did," Song Wei answered without hesitation.
Zhao Wanyu and Song Ning's expressions instantly turned ugly.
Song Ning was about to yell at Song Wei for being shameless, but her mom forcefully stopped her.
