Max covered Shannon with a blanket, his tone teasing, but his gaze was serious.
Shannon chuckled. Was he joking with her?
"President Wenley, your joke isn't funny at all. Besides, I've already jumped into this fire pit once. I can't do it again." Shannon tore the blanket off her, picked up her bag, and prepared to leave.
Since he wasn't leaving, she should just leave. Anyway, it was just her hand that was injured, so it wasn't a big deal.
However, when she reached the door, two men blocked her way.
"You can't go out." Max sat on the sofa, his quiet voice infuriating her.
Shannon turned around and returned to Max. What was he trying to do?
"Your hand injury is very serious, and you need to be hospitalized. Jake will send the food over later. Stay here obediently." Max looked up and met Shannon's eyes.
Shannon looked down at her fingers. It seemed like the blood had dyed the bandage red from her actions just now.
