"Your friend is undergoing investigations, so he can't help you at all. You'd better listen to me obediently. I might help you if I'm in a good mood." Max walked to her side, and once again correctly guessed what she was thinking.
Shannon suddenly felt nervous. Pete was being investigated too? But why?
"Pete isn't my friend. He's my fiancé. Hurry up and open the door. I need to go and help him." Shannon walked to Max's side, and deliberately exaggerated Pete's identity.
Max looked at Shannon, his gaze seemingly piercing through her.
"Oh? You'll need money to save your fiancé. Are you sure you don't want to have breakfast with me?" As he approached her, his voice was extremely cold.
Shannon knew that she had no choice but to follow him out.
The car was already waiting downstairs. Shannon got into the car, and her mind was full of worries. Soon, the car stopped at a luxurious restaurant.
