Max went forward to look at Shannon. She looked even weaker than usual.

"Put her in the best ward," Max ordered coldly.

After a while, Shannon was placed in the best ward in the hospital. In an unprecedented moment, Max actually sat on the chair beside the bed and looked after Shannon.

The image of Shannon losing their baby a few years ago suddenly appeared in his mind, and his heart tightened.

He was a heartless person, wasn't he? Shannon was an orphan, so she must have been very lonely and upset.
